"Are you ready for this?"
You looked at Hizashi, the blonde standing next to you as you avoided heading back to the arena. "Not at all."
"You're going to do great."
"I just hope they're actually going to give everyone earplugs for this." You pondered out loud, looking back to your shoes and loose gym uniform. You had made it through the obstical course without the use of your quirk, thank god, and had placed 17th. The upcoming objective worried you more. The calvary battle.
"You'll do great. I trust you. Have some faith in yourself."
You looked up at him once more, catching his bright green eyes. "I can't control my quirks. I never actually was able to learn because of my disability. What if I accidentally hurt someone?"
He reached over, then, tugging you into an embrace. "You could never hurt a fly. I believe in you. You're going to do amazing, and you'll come out on top."
You realized you had reached the arena again, Hizashi apparently having started you walking at some point or another in order to get you there on time. "I hope so." You nuzzled your nose into his chest, just happy to be in a comforting embrace.
He rubbed his slightly stubbly chin on top of your head, "I know so."
"Competitors! Please join me in the arena!"
Both of you released one another, slowly and hesitantly, and Hizashi smiled widely at you before rushing back to the stadium booth to commentate with Aizawa. Sighing, you could only turn and make your way back out onto the arena floors, anxiety flooding through you.
"Hey! You wanna join our team?"
You spun, looking into a pair of all-too-familiar silver eyes. You absolutely lit up at the sight, pulling the silver haired boy into your embrace. "Of course."
Tetsutetsu hugged you back, before releasing you and backing up. "Hey, I didn't know you could talk! We missed you in class, though, but Mr. King told us that you were transferred up! That's so cool!"
"Hearing aids," you pulled back your hair to motion to the small black coils resting in your ears. "And yeah, I missed you guys too!"
Ibara Shiozaki joined the two of you, smiling at you happily. "It's very nice to see you again, (y/n)!"
You smiled back at her, hugging her as well. "I missed you too, Ibara."
When you pulled away, the girl was blushing heavily at the contact, but you knew she was glad to still have a welcoming and open friend. "You're with us for the battles, right? We decided to put Tetsutetsu on as rider."
"I'm alright with that! We should probably lay low for this round, though. If we work we can make it to the top four, but it'll be tricky. Some of the other kids from 1-A are really competitive, and honestly kinda scary." You placed a hand to your chin, trying to avoid mumbling off as Izuku tended to do.
"Great idea!" Yousetsu Awase walked over as well, and you automatically assumed he would be in your quartet as well. "Glad to see you, (y/n)! How's 1-A treating you? I'll beat em up for ya!"
You grinned at the boy, you had always admired his welding quirk. "Not too many problems, Awase. I am older then all of them."
He rubbed the back of his head, suddenly sheepish. "True, sometimes I forget that you're older then us still!"
Your quartet clustered together, hoisting Tetsutetsu up onto your shoulders. You were placed in the front with Ibara for offense, with Awase in the back on defense. You had handed out disposable earplugs to the rest of your teammates, all of whom understanding the brutal reason behind them. Just in case you needed to use your quirk during the battle.
