WARNING: This chapter would be an AU, meaning it does not follow any particular timeline whatsoever!

// let's imagine that the guardians and the avengers become friends after end game and that the whole Gamora dying in infinity war/ 2012 Gamora does not remember Peter Quill thing did not exist (๑・̑◡・̑๑)

but where Peter and Gamora get a better ending~ oh, and where Tony Stark (and nobody else) does not die.//

~

"Thank you, Mr Stark for your kind hospitality and the beautiful house that we are able to live in! I am eternally grateful to stay in this planet for a few days and enjoy it's beauty!" an excited Mantis exclaims, bobbing around the house that Tony bought for the Guardians to stay in. The Guardians of the Galaxy had decided to stay put on Earth before travelling out to space again to rest after the epic battle against Thanos and his army. Combining their forces together, they managed to snap Thanos out of existence.

Tony laughs at the odd girl with 'antennas', she was as innocent as his 5-year-old daughter, Morgan. In fact, Mantis reminded him of her. Thinking of Morgan, she was probably messing up his garage again. Tony face palms, quickly passing them the keys and wish them a good stay before heading off to Morgan.

"THANKS STARK!" the Guardians shout in unison, with Tony waving his hand like it's nothing. Well, technically, it's nothing, he's a millionaire.

~

The house they're staying in is beside the new avengers tower which had a breathtaking sea-view.

They then started choosing which rooms to sleep in and casting lots for the nicest view.

"YESSSSSSS, I got the nicest view! Peter! Look!" Gamora screams in excitement after picking the lot which had the room on the top most level, which was also the room facing the sea. Since both of them were considered a 'thing' to the Guardians, their room arrangement was no problem. While Groot and Rocket had to argue on who would sleep with Drax and tolerate his loud snoring.

After about 5 minutes of arguing, a fed-up Gamora assigned them their rooms.

"Drax! You sleep on the first floor, which is the room beside the kitchen. Mantis, your room would be beside Peter and mine. Groot and Rocket, second floor".

Everyone nodded, thankfully, giving in eventually.

"I am Groot (thanks mom)", added Groot, lifting his head from his video game for a moment, before going back to it.

~

Most of them fell asleep after entering their beds, the exhaustion of the past few days engulfing them. Except Groot, of course, his video game was far more important than sleep. What is sleep anyways? They were Guardians! He looked, disappointed at Rocket who was snoring away, unable to join him in a multiplayer version of Mario Kart.

~

After about six hours or so, Gamora awoke suddenly to a roar of thunder. She jolted awake, afraid by the sound and finding Peter not in the bed.

"Peter? PETER!" Gamora screams, slightly terrified by the lightning, seen from the open window of their room, since she never saw it up close before.

"Woah woah chill there, what's wrong?", Peter emerges from the kitchen with some hot tea, nearly spilling it as Gamora galloped down the stairs and nearly crashing into him.

"It's loud... and the waves are so... big i'm... a little scared".

Peter grins, "who knew an assassin was afraid of storms?" It was his favourite thing as a child.

Gamora glares at him and hits him hard on his head.

He hands over hot tea to her and brings her to the small table side, overlooking the view of the angry storm.

"It's beautiful. Just watch. Listen to the rain, let it consume you".

Gamora, confused by what Peter said and still a little shaken by the lightning sips her tea and watches the waves crash over the shore. What did "let it consume you" mean? The rain could not possibly reach her could it? Before she could say anything, Peter interrupted her thoughts.

"The waves always comes back to the shore, look!" *An angry wave hits the shoreline and recedes again*.

"Just like how I'll come back to you".

Gamora laughs at how corny that statement was, with the wind blowing on her face, caressing her cheeks lightly. She observed the storm and its magnificence. Storms weren't as bad as she thought. Hearing the rain patter down the roof just sounded.. comforting in a way. She finally understood what Peter meant. The rain and it's sounds felt magical, like an escape from everything. Even the thunder and lightning complements it. She closed her eyes and just sunk in the chair she was sitting on, both hands holding the hot cup of tea.

There and then, Peter thought she looked like an absolute angel. Well, she was always one to him. He watches her watch the waves, the occasional lightning strike across and sound of rain. She did not even jump at the sound of thunder anymore. In a world of chaos, at the moment, it was just him, her, the hot tea and the rain.

What could be more beautiful than that?

A/N: I got this idea from pinterest!! I didn't exactly follow the note but got inspiration off it! Hope you all enjoyed this short fanfic that was super impromptu!

I really felt like writing about Peter and Gamora having a life on earth as they just deserved so much more. I, as a person, love rain and everything about it (except when i'm caught in it of course).

Do drop requests if you would like! I would try to update when possible (might take a week or two due to exams being round the corner).

Thanks for reading! :) 🙌❤ Tony stark loves you 3000 🥰
