Chapter 8:Confrontation

  I got woke up around 7am from someone banging on the front door."Im gonna fuckin kill whoever that is!" I yelled loudly as Clockwork stirred next to me."Who is that?!"Clockwork yelled sitting up.

    "I don't know but it's pissing me off!" I yelled in reply as I left my room clutching my knife."Who the fuck is it?!" I screamed unlocking and throwing open the door. Ti stood there looking tired and worried."Come outside man, I need to talk to you."

      "This better be good." I said walking onto the porch with my knife clutched in my right hand."What's with the blade?" He asked spotting it."What do you want?" I spat out angrily."You have to be careful man, there's a new killer out there."

   I began to smile and Ti's face broke into a scared look."Bro tell me you." I cut him off by saying "Sit down and I'll tell you everything." I said gestering to the metal chair on the porch. He reluctantly sat eying my blade intently. "I'm not gonna stab you so chill the fuck out."

     "Remember I said I was held captive by that cult?" I asked with a small smirk. Ti nodded quickly and I continued talking. "Well after their little summon killed them I found a list of names of people who backed them." Those who covered up their activities, people who funded them."

    "I felt pure rage and bloodlust and I lost myself." In the few months it took me to hunt those bastards down I awoke several times to discover I couldn't control my body." I couldn't stop hunting them and well...." I trailed off noticing Ti was visibly sweating.

   "You killed them all didn't you?" Ti asked with a shaking voice. "I plead the 5th." I said in a playful tone. "So these new murders, is that your work?" Are you Bloodletter?" Ti asked visibly shaking with fear. "Yes, they were part of the problem that plagues this world." I said with hate in my voice.

   "You can leave now if you'd like but if you try going to the cops my master won't let you." I said darkly."He protects his own" I spoke as I revealed my new proxy mark. Ti got up and stared in disbelief and shock. "I'm not a full proxy yet." I said twirling my knife.

   "Ti, I can't stop now man." I have this other side of myself that wants to see everything burn." If I stop my work as Bloodletter, I'll become that ruthless killer again." I won't care if my target is innocent." Leave and think on what I've told you." If you still want to be my friend I could use someone with up to date street knowledge like you."

    Ti ran off quickly out of sight as I chuckled hollowly. "That's over now I need to go get ready to go hunting again." I spoke going back inside and heading into the kitchen. I opened the fridge and took out a can of venom and opened it drinking the can in a long gulp.

       "Clockwork pack some clothes, we are going on a road trip of sorts." I called out as I opened my bedroom door. I got a glimpse of Clockwork changing with her back to the door."Knock before entering!" She yelled throwing a knife at the half open door.

   "Son of a bitch!" I yelled in suprise as the knife thudded into the wood door. "Lucky I didn't open the door all the way!" I shouted at the closed door before I went back to the kitchen. "So he knows about you now?" Clockwork asked from behind and I almost lashed out with my knife.

   "DONT SNEAK UP ON ME!" I yelled seriously. "Whatever." She said tossing her hair. "Yeah he does but he would have figured it out soon enough."Ti's incredibly smart, he would have pieced it together soon enough." I replied chugging a second energy drink. "Where are we going?" Clockwork asked as I tossed the can out.

     "The dealers supplier, he lives in a fairly nice area a few cities over." I said pulling a list of names out my pocket. "I was able to hack into his home security system cameras and he had armed thugs for muscle." I informed her as a smirk broke across my face. "Finally a challenge again." I said eagerly.

   "Grab on and I'll get us to their city." I said preparing to slender-step. She did and off we went. "We should get a hotel room so I can sleep until tomorrow so I can recharge." I suggested as we walked down a street wearing hoodies to cover our faces.

   "That one should be cheap." I said pointing to a motel 8."Fine, but can we get something to eat after we book our room?" Clockwork asked me as we walked into the small lobby. "One room, preferably a smoker one." I said to the small woman sat at the desk. "Two nights and make sure the bed can fit two people."

  
   "Room 226 is available." She said handing us two room keys." I handed over around 100 bucks and we walked to our room. I entered with Clockwork following behind me and closed the metal door. "You smoke?" Clockwork asked curiously as I sat on the bed. "I don't but he does." I said tapping on my forehead.

  
   "Im letting him out for this one." I said softly. "I need that extra edge to take on a whole house of assholes." I said gritting my teeth. "Clockwork promise me if you notice me going too crazy you'll knock me out." I promise." She said as I pulled out a pack of smokes.

  
   I pulled down the mask part of my hoodie then pulled a cigarette out of the pack. I lit the cig and took a long pull of the cig before exhaling the smoke. "Clockwork, are you ready for tomorrow?" I asked her while taking another pull of the cig. She glanced at me disapprovingly.

   "Yeah I am but why are you smoking if its only your only other personality smokes?" It's easier to control him if he's happy." He enjoys the nicotine so I smoke to make him happy." I answered finishing the cig. "I'm not going to keep smoking tonight."

   "Im going to try to sleep for a bit, those two energy drinks were burned away with that slender-step." I said flicking the cigarette butt into the bedside table ashtray. I lay back on the bed and closed my eyes. "Clockwork wake me in a few hours." I said slowly falling asleep.
