Perhaps it wasn't as hard as she thought it would be.

Okay, that was a lie.

Yuna and Chaeryeong shared the couch, while Chaeyeon took the recliner (after the others insisted she would), and the rest slept on the floor. Everybody but Ryujin was asleep. She laid the farthest away from the couch, closer to the TV. And the kitchen. Where she got up to get something to drink.

"Go to sleep, go to sleep, go to sleep," she whispered to herself as she sipped on a glass of lukewarm water.

She tried to go to sleep, she really did. But she just couldn't keep her eyes closed long enough to drift away. Like something was really trying to keep her up.

"Can't sleep either?"

Of course she would come in and make Ryujin's night worse. Or better. She didn't know.

Ryujin turned away from the sink with a small smile. "Yeah, I can barely close my eyes."

Yuna chuckled as she came closer and leaned against the counter as well. "Weird sleeping in a house that isn't yours."

"Agreed."

It was quiet for a moment while Ryujin continued drinking her water. It was a little awkward since they weren't familiar with each other, besides in Ryujin's dreams.

"Have you been friends with Chaeryeong for a long time?" Yuna suddenly asked. She took a step closer to the older.

"Er, yeah. Ever since elementary school. All of us were close."

"That's cute. I like how close you guys are. I kind of miss my old friends." Yuna looked down, drawing invisible shapes in the countertop.

"Can't you visit them?"

"Not really. They're so busy. But it's okay, cause I have you guys. And you're really fun to be around. You guys made me feel comfortable so quickly."

Ryujin could feel her cheeks get hot and she lowered her head. "Ah, yeah, well Chaeryeong knew you first since you're in the same neighborhood and all. It was all her, honestly. Without her you probably wouldn't have met us."

Yuna smiled sweetly at her. "Yeah, you're right. I'm happy she let us all meet."

It grew quiet again. Ryujin downed the rest of her water and set the glass in the sink. She was about to walk out the kitchen when Yuna grabbed her wrist softly.

"Hey, do you think we could go outside for a minute? I need some air."

"Uh, s-sure."

Yuna led Ryujin toward the back of the house silently and through the backdoor, where she closed it as quietly as she could. It was nice and warm outside, perfect weather. Yuna sat down on the step and Ryujin followed her lead, trying not to freak out when their arms brushed.

"You know, Chaeyeon talks a lot about you," Yuna said.

"Really?" Ryujin frowned in confusion. Her and Chaeyeon weren't extremely close, not as close as her and Chaeryeong. But she did like Chaeyeon. She was really cool and nice. "I wouldn't have thought. We aren't close."

"That's what Chaeryeong told me. I thought all of you were close?"

"Well, Chaeyeon goes to a different school than us. So not as close as we used to be. But we aren't complete strangers, I love her."

Yuna nodded before looking up at the night sky. They couldn't really see the stars, being near the city and all. "And Yeji and Jisu?"

"...Yeah, they're still close with her."

"No, I meant like...don't they have something going on?"

Ryujin shook her head. "No...? I doubt it, none of us are dating. They're just super close and touchy."

"Oh." Her voice was at a higher pitch that time, which made Ryujin a little suspicious.

"Why? Are you...are you looking to date someone?" Ryujin nervously asked. "C-cause everybody in this group are really chill, y-you know? Like—like nobody would judge or hurt you or anything. I-I swear."

"I figured," Yuna replies in her normal voice. "I just needed clarification."

Wow, so Yuna actually wanted to date someone in the clique. But who? Ryujin hoped it was her, but she knew it wasn't. They weren't close at all, hadn't even spoken one on one before then. So maybe Chaeryeong? Or Chaeyeon? Or Yeji or Jisu? Ryujin's head was spinning with the possibility of Yuna liking somebody.

She wanted Yuna to like her.

Ryujin didn't know what to say, so she stayed silent, deep in thought.

She may not get any sleep that night after all.
