3 years later...Ryujin cursed as she hopped off the bus and ran as fast as she could through the crowd of people. She had one job, one job, and she couldn't even do it properly. Wow, what would Chaeyeon think?
The flowers in her hand were slowly beginning to lose their petals from being knocked against numerous obstacles, mainly people. But it's okay, she'll just take the worst ones out the bunch. Chaeyeon will love them anyways.
Finally, she ended up at the concert hall just in time for Chaeyeon to walk on stage with the rest of her group. It was the end of the year showcase, and her group had chosen to do a hip-hop stage, which Chaeyeon had been nervous about, but Ryujin assured her that she would be perfectly fine. After all, it was Chaeyeon she was talking about. Chaeyeon could do anything she put her mind to.
After choosing her seat carefully to avoid sitting near her friends, Ryujin patiently waited for it to start.
As expected, Chaeyeon was flawless. She performed to her heart's content, not missing a beat, and looking genuinely happy at what she was doing. It made Ryujin smile throughout the performance, glad that her girlfriend was doing something she was so passionate about.
She sat through a couple more performances, spending the time picking out the few flowers that were practically naked from the lack of petals. Once all the performers met on stage and bowed to the audience, Ryujin hopped up and made her way to the stage as fast as she could, so she could congratulate Chaeyeon and leave before the others appeared.
"You made it!" Chaeyeon happily said, throwing her arms around Ryujin.
"Wouldn't miss it for the world," Ryujin smiled and handed her the bouquet. She had a make up test to finish that day, because her luck was unbelievable, and she honestly thought she wouldn't have made it.
"How'd you do on your test?" Chaeyeon asked, tucking the flowers in the crook of her arm, like she was holding a child.
"I'm sure I failed, but at least I got it done."
Chaeyeon rolled her eyes. "You need to take school more seriously."
"I am! Just not that class." Ryujin grinned while Chaeyeon smacked her arm.
Ryujin was about to ask where she wanted to go for dinner when she felt arms around her, pushing her and Chaeyeon together. She heard the familiar voices of Yeji and Jisu congratulating Chaeyeon, and she relaxed just a tiny bit.
"And you! Where have you been?" Yeji asked, pulling the shorter into a tight hug.
"Calm down, Yeji, you might break her," Jisu giggled.
"I should since she likes pulling a disappearing act on us! Or are you too busy with Chaeyeon to hang out with your friends?" Yeji pouted.
"She's actually too busy studying," Chaeyeon replied. "I'm trying to make her study anyways. She's failing her classes."
Jisu gasped. "Shin Ryujin! How could you?"
"She doesn't take school seriously!"
"Stop telling on me!" Ryujin whined.
"I will once you raise your grades. You can't get a job with poor grades like that."
Ryujin rolled her eyes while Chaeyeon chuckled and stroked her girlfriend's hair lovingly. The two have been dating for a little over two years, having celebrated their second anniversary just a month ago. Apparently Chaeyeon had the biggest gay crush on Ryujin, and the younger was so oblivious to it. Chaeyeon courted Ryujin for a few months before the latter began to actually grow feelings for her and the two became official a little while later. They made each other extremely happy.
