CHAPTER ONE | FIERY MEETINGS

"The doctor told me meeting you would clear my head," a young girl with golden brown hair slumped against the cold metal seat of the visiting area, "but it has done nothing but put a migraine in it, my dearest auntie."
"Don't be like that, Sachi. You'll be going home soon... I'll be missing you a lot," Ishikawa Fuzen drawled out, a malicious smile tugging her lips and for a moment, Sachiyo felt her blood freeze over.
"And I won't." The older woman paused before falling into fits of laughter.
"Oh dear... You changed so much. You're almost like me now." Sachiyo couldn't help but grimace, offended at her words.
"I am not like you!" she took a sharp breath, baring her sharp teeth at the woman in an animalistic manner. "I will never be like you, you wench!"
"Whatever you say, honey. But it doesn't change the truth. You are me and I am you. How long will it take for you to realize that? How long will you run away from the truth?"
The younger girl quickly composed herself, not wanting to show weaknesses in front of the cunning and manipulative woman before glaring with such animosity. "You disgust me"
"Everyone does when you think about it. All of them... All those people are beneath us and we rule above them. They are nothing but ants lining up to be crushed. " Hatred seeped into Sachiyo's bloodstream as she clenched her fists into a ball, desperately trying to contain her anger inside of her guts.
"But you know dearest niece, if we have one difference it's that you're still too naive and blind! You've been so desperate to go back to Japan and live your life again. Have you ever wondered if you have anyone to go back to? If you'll even have that life again?"
Sachiyo stood up, unwilling to listen to this crazy woman any longer, "I trust my friends."
And with that she walked away, her hair swaying behind her in a royal manner befitting of her status.

The warm summer air hit her face almost immediately as soon as she stepped out of the pitch black car she drove. Sachiyo stood still, eyes lingering in her surroundings as she waited for the man who called for her presence. The tall buildings of New York never gave her comfort. She felt trapped like a bird who's dying to spread its wings. Nevertheless, business was far more important than measly feelings and that was one of the lessons she learned when she was allowed to take her share of the company.
The young woman changed a lot, so to speak. She was no longer the frail, naive girl from two years ago and in her place was a successful woman; a genius in all sorts of ways. The one who made the influential and powerful Yamada Group an infallible empire and monopoly. Albeit that, change was such a foreign topic for the youngest Yamada and that irritated her to no ends. She understood the concept of evolution and adaptation but never change. It was so bizarre and general but necessary. Either way, she learned to hate the idea of change and what comes after because there are more pressing matters at hand. That includes global warming, the hole in the Ozone and perhaps the one who summoned her presence who has been making her wait for fifteen minutes and counting.
