Sobering up enough to realize what I had just said I looked at him. Like he had just taken a cannon to the stomach Logan looked back at me into my eyes. They met me for the first time since the day we broke up and I could see the confusion behind them. Then confusion turned to something I also knew well, Lust. he smirked at me and I looked back at him as he walked towards me.
L= I love you Ace
And with that he kissed me and all of my worries disappeared. The only thing I felt was the way our lips moved together in some unsolicited dance we both attended. As if we were grasping for passion as we knew that these were the last of our breaths. This was the same kiss I encountered as we waltzed in the refrigerator light and sat at the breakfast table in the morning, but some part more different.
In that moment we truly realized how much we did need each other. And maybe we did need the cocktail of drinks and sanity to rush through our systems for us to realize that. I thought of the years as they flashed like a movie reel through mind as my body encountered a journey it hadn't taken but craved for oh so long. And while we continued to kiss and the walls between us got thinner I pulled out of the kiss.
R= I need you and I love you more than I have ever loved anything.
And with that clothes were on the floor and we went from couch to pool table to bar within our secret hideaway behind the Black Maple and it felt almost nostalgic. I knew I couldn't forget every reason I said no to the proposal but I was right regardless of how it hurt Logan; I was desperate at one point. But I was also right in the sense that I wasn't anymore.
They always say that exes get back together after ripping off the bandaid of a breakup to try to relive a pint where they felt happy. And sure me and Logan were upset being far apart but we were both adults. This wasn't some rush to travel back in time, instead it was the first step in moving forward even though we didn't know what that would be quite yet.
As we played in the sheet on top of the pool table, Logan laced his fingers in mine and we watched the sun rise over sleepy Connecticut. A million and five adventures sat right outside the door that I still wanted to take but this time with a partner at my side. The right way. Then I sat up abruptly.
R= Logan wheres my phone
L= I don't know just check ever place I took a piece of those clothes off last night
He chuckled
R= Logan this isn't funny. My mom is probably freaking out.
L= When is she going to realize you are a grown ass woman who makes her own decisions and sleeps with whomever she please?
R= Right after she forgets the past months I have been crying over you
L= Ok Ok Ace I'm sorry lets find your phone
R= Does my grown ass self come with a new nickname
L= Like Rory? Fat chance
He chuckled and then found my phone, sure enough there was thirteen missed calls from my mom last night. So I picked up the phone and Logan brought my dress over putting it on me. Him knowing I had to leave was the first sincere change in Logan I had seen. But the hot kisses he left on my neck as the phone rang were oh so familiar.
Lo= Kid I didn't know our fight was that bad, where are you?
R= I spent the night with someone I'm going to breakfast but I'm sorry I scared you Mom. I'm just trying to be more independent.
Lo= Any chance the identity gets to be revealed to me?
R= Fat chance?
Just then I felt those hot kisses on my neck as he zipped up my dress
R= Bye Mom I'll see you in a couple of hours.
I hung up the phone and turned around.
R= I have got an hour tops.
L= Good
