a/n: no longer putting dates, bc i don't got time for this story to stretch into 2023.. it'll just be "2 months, 6 months," etc .. also, baby pics coming @ around 7 or 8 months.. also I don't like using the same pronouns and shit so i'll switch from alex, lex, noah, xander, & other nicknames quite often :)
👶🏽 5 Months
DAKOTA POV
I rinsed the soap off of Alex as his hands and feet wiggled and explored the texture of the sink.
Ethan was out getting baby clothes & probably looking for a job. I told him we were financially stable, and I have plenty to provided & so he agreed to not look for a job. I didn't trust it thought considering how stubborn he is.
Raquel & Dezmond were getting groceries and running errands.
Nobody let me do anything anymore. I loved it. The only responsibility I had was keeping my room clean, and taking care of my little one, which I had no problem with.
I picked up Alex and wrapped him in the towel, drying him off as he looked around the bathroom, taking in all of his surroundings.
I kissed all over his face as he made little noises. He made me so happy.
I sat him down on the counter, facing him towards me. He could now sit up, somewhat on his own, but I'd still monitor him just to make sure he didn't fall back.
My phone started ringing, and I picked it up and answered, seeing that it was Raquel.
"Hey, what's up?"
She set the camera up so I could see her as she drove, and I did the same so she could get a good view of Lex.
His head was turned away, as he continued panning the bathroom and the objects in it.
"Nothing, I'm on my way home and I just wanted to see my nephew." She smiled, taking a glance at the back of him.
I turned his body so he could face the phone and see her.
He looked at me with a slight grin and then back at the phone, as if I had surprised him with something he'd been asking for.
He leaned towards the phone to reach for it & pick it up.
"Hi, baby!"
He giggled and shook the phone a bit.
"I can't see your face, baby!" She frowned, pretending to be sad.
His smile turned to a frown, like he recognized that her tone and face changed.
He blabbed a couple syllables, seeming to match her words.
She nodded, "Yeah, I cant see you!"
He handed me the phone and I propped it up again.
"Yay!" She said, smiling at the fact that she could see him now.
He giggled and tried to cheer with her.
