4 Months Later
DAKOTA POV
I took a deep breath as I checked myself in the mirror one last time.
"You ready, stink?"
Noah nodded as he copied my actions in the mirror.
"Alright, come on."
I walked out of my room and into the backyard of my house, greeting all my ( & Ethan's) friends and family that gathered here for my gender reveal.
Honestly, despite her being normally very creative, Raquel decided on a cliche idea. She said Noah, Ethan, and I were gonna pop a huge black balloon that was filled with either a ton of blue or pink confetti.
I was on board with the idea but I thought she'd come up with something more unique.
After a few minutes of chatting, Lex, Ethan, & I, moved to a designated area in front of everyone, so they could see clearly.
I held Noah in my arms, as he held a small needle, that would be used for popping the balloon, and revealing the surprise.
Everyone stopped chatting and began filming as they counted down...
"3, 2, 1"
He popped the black balloon only to reveal nothing.
Lex leaned over to my ear and whispered,
"Mama, look at Daddy."
I turned to see Ethan on one knee, holding a small pink box open. There was a beautiful, glistening, engagement ring inside the box.
The crowd of friends and family cheered at the surprise.
My eyes poured tears as I walked to Ethan.
"You're the most beautiful woman I've ever met. You've shown me so many new things, things I didn't even know that I didn't know. You gave birth to my bestfriend, and you're about to give birth to the other one. Throughout highschool, I'd always had a crush on you, but I never tried cause I didn't think you'd give a guy like me the time of day. You asked me to hang out with you and Raquel, and from that day forward I knew you were the woman I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. I love you with everything in me. Dakota Alexandria Marine, will you marry me?"
I fell to my knees as I set Noah down on the grass.
Tears continued to spill from my eyes as I kissed Ethan and pulled him into a hug.
"Yes, baby!"
He slid the ring on my finger as everybody clapped and exclaimed.
"Yay, Daddy! You did it!" Noah said, waving his arms in the air.
I couldn't believe it, this was all so surreal to me.
I wiped my tears as I stood up with Ethan.
"I love you." I said, kissing him again.
"I love you more."
It felt like a dream.
He kissed and rubbed my stomach as everybody congratulated me on the baby and proposal.
Dezmond and Raquel walked up to me hand in hand, smiles on their faces.
Raquel and Dezmond were in charge of planning the party, and I knew they'd pull some shit.
"I hate y'all!" I said laughing, playfully punching Dez.
They laughed and hugged Ethan and I.
I heard Raquel sniff and as we pulled away she wiped some tears away.
"Why're you crying? You're gonna make me cry."
"Because! You have a 2 year old baby boy, and you're pregnant with a beautiful babygirl! You're getting married! I'm so fucking happy.. I remember you having your first kiss.. you losing your virginity.. us smoking together and falling asleep. You're like a sister I never had.. and literally you're grown up now, with a family." She said, causing me to start tearing up again as I pulled her in for another hug.
"I love you Quel."
"I love you too, baldheaded ass."
"Bitch!" I laughed, remembering when we used to call eachother bald.
