I watched her as she steadily made her way across the kitchen into the living room. When am I ever going to complete my mission? "(Y/n)-ah, what's the matter?" I asked. "I feel paranoid these days, I'm not really sure of what though, but I feel like it's going to be spontaneous." I nodded, walking over to her, and wrapping my arms around her. "I get that feelings too sometimes, baby. We just gotta continue on with our lives I guess."

"It's scary to think about it though." I rested my head on her shoulder. "Don't think about it, I'll be here whenever you get paranoid." She loosened up, I'm assuming her attempt at trying to forget the feeling of fear. I should probably do it tonight when she's asleep, she knows I work night shifts for a 'part time job.'

"Soyeonie, let's watch a movie." (Y/n) cuddled me, I didn't mind though because I'd probably fall asleep during the movie anyways. "Okay sure." She went on to Netflix and began playing Mulan, which I grew to learn that it was her favorite after so many times of watching it.

My heavy eyelids opened to loud scraping noises in the kitchen. "Baby, what are you doing?" (Y/n) dropped whatever she was holding, startling me. I stood up, walking over to see a knife on the ground. What the fuck is going on?

"Soyeon-ah, it's not what it looks like, I swear." She slowly walked over to me with her hands not knowing what to do other than reaching out for me in caution. "Do not touch me, okay? Don't get any closer."

"Kitten, come here. Let me explain," (Y/n) tried to get closer and I reached for the holster on my thigh, not pulling out the weapon that came with it. "I told you not to come any closer. Explain from where you're standing."

"I was sharpening the knives so we can cook food easier." My grip didn't move from the gun that was held snugly against my thigh. "Bullshit." I spat. "I saw the poison on the knife, the sheer, yellow coat of poison. You're planning to use that on me, aren't you?"

"What gives you such a bizarre idea?" I watched the fake confusion fall on to her face. "I know about the assassins in this world, I'm not stupid."

"How do you know if I'm one of them?" She tried testing me, inching closer than I wanted her to. "Don't you know how to fucking listen?" I had lost my temper at this point, nearly pulling the hand-gun out of place. "And you're probably one of them because of that particular poison! I've done my research!"

"Soyeon, my little bean, you finally caught me." She walked back into the kitchen, grabbing the knife from the ground as quickly as she could. Once she got as close as to holding the knife to my throat, I pulled the gun out, aimed at her chest, and fired. Her body fell to the ground with a thud and the knife pricking my neck just a bit.

"I'm sorry to see you leave like this, but my mission is complete." I had felt so much pressure and weight lifted from my shoulders, but a small part of guilt somewhere in my head.

I drove to the hospital, making sure that I wasn't poisoned at least a tiny bit. I'm not going to let her win although she's gone. "Soyeon, you look and act perfectly fine to me, and the blood tests are all negative so you're free to go."

"Thank you, Mr. (L/n). Your daughter is doing great by the way," I smiled at him warmly. "That's nice to know. You should get back home to her, you know how worried she can get."

"Yes, I'm aware of how anxious she can get, sir. I'll be taking my leave now, have a good day." I grabbed my purse and went home, thinking about what to do with her body. Should I burn it and also the objects? It sounds like the best idea since they won't trace fingerprints on a burnt body through an autopsy. It's time to say our goodbyes here I guess.

I'm sorry Soyeon, I actually loved you during the time we stayed together, but we betrayed each other and it's time to move on. I, (L/n) (Y/n), will never forget the promise that we made a year and a half ago. "No matter what comes in between us is what will make us stronger, and even if one or both of us is gone; we'll be at our strongest." I love you, and stay strong when I'm not there for you, goodbye Kitten.

I woke up in a cold sweat, a tear rolling down my cheek. "Why did she have to be my target?" I asked myself. "I had something for her, I genuinely did, but I had to become an assassin like my parents and my loved one was my target.

I'm so fucking stupid for ever making that dumb decision in my life. I want to go back and meet (Y/n) again and have her as mine, but to not seek her out as my target and instead my loved one."
