'Ells,' Peyton whispered, 'wake up.'

'Wha?' Elleanor stuttered, it was 4am in the morning, she instantly knew this plan would be the go. But she kind of got nervous about it, what if they never returned? Just like those heroes she'd read about all those years ago...

'Are you sure this is a good idea?' she whispered frantically, to which Peyton said, 'I think it'll be fun, you know? Like Indianna Jones?'

'But we're not in an action movie,' she protested, 'this is real life.'

'I know I know,' Peyton replied, then said, 'I've got enough food to last us the week, if we run out, well I have baked beans and canned stuff.' She looked out the window, then said, 'come on, let's go.'

'But,' she wailed, she couldn't believe it, how and why were humans so hungry for survival? Didn't they know what would come of it? If they did actually run out of food, they would then have to scavenge, maybe there was food in the castle, she didn't really want to think about it.

Finally, without overthinking, they left.

'Wow, it's kinda exciting,' Peyton said enthusiastically, whilst they were walking down the street, 'don't ya think?'

'Yeah, I guess so,' Elleanor whispered, was this going to turn out how she expected? Or will they be fine.

'Oi,' someone yelled, it was coming from the far end of the street, she started to shake.

'Hey girlies,' another voice said, this didn't sound nice at all, it all seemed quite scary, then two guys came up to them, they were dangerous looking, as if they were about to bite like vicious dogs.

'Peyton,' Elleanor whispered, 'what should we do?'

'Um,' she said, then started to turn pale, 'I know these guys, their not very nice people, they're seniors at the State high school, always trying to bully people who look weak.

'OI STOP IT, YOU TWIG,' one of them roared at Peyton, right in her face, then turned to Elleanor, 'and who are you?'

'Well I guess it's none of your business anyway,' she replied.

'A smart girl then?' He said, 'what are you doing with those hands of yours?'

'I'm here to defend my best friend,' she replied, then said, 'if I were you I would leave us alone or you'd have something to deal with.'

'Oh alright,' they said, sounding scared, then turned and stopped.

'Good, then GO AWAY!' She screamed, and they both ran away. Into the darkness.

'Thanks for that,' Peyton said, sounding relieved but also shaken.

'You never know sometimes what humans could do,' she whispered.

'What?'

'Nothing,' Elleanor said cheerfully, 'now let's go to the castle.'

'Agree.'

They didn't talk for a while now, not until they reached the gates of the grounds, they felt very damp from the morning dew coming off of them, it was now light, and they just reached the front door, when Peyton realised, 'oh no.'

'What?' Elleanor said, then turned around down at the gate was James, running up to them.

'Hey,' Peyton yelled, running down to her brother, 'how and why are you here? Mum's gonna kill us if she finds out where we are.'

'Oops, sorry,' he said, looked behind him, then said in a whisper, 'I'm gonna come with you, no matter what you say, because I want to uncover what secrets may be under Elleanor's history,' he indicated to her, 'if you don't mind.'

'Well I don't really but I don't want you to be in big trouble because of me.'

'Yeah well,' Peyton snorted, 'we're all in this together right?'

'Right,' the other two said.

'Excellent,' she said cheerfully, 'we better get inside and have some breakfast- uh I know what you're thinking James,' she laughed, 'I took a whole bunch of food out of the fridge, I'm sure that there's a fridge inside.' And they all walked in silently, but efficiently.
