Chapter 12

Y/N P.O.V
Waking up is always the shittiest part of the day. Always in between never wanting to leave the welcoming warmth that the soft blankets provide and wanting to get up and do something productive.
I choose never leaving the blankets.
Lifting the covers over my chest I look out to the window. My eyes are temporarily blinded by the yellow warm light the sun gives off. It must be past sunrise. I hear mocking birds singing back and fourth to the same tune. It's soothing. Closing my eyes I sink back into the sheets, letting the warmth of the sunlight dance on my skin. Some of the campers here might knock on my cabin. There probably wondering where I am. I don't want to get up. I have no desire to leave this bed whatsoever.
Thinking back to what happens yesterday.. How I acted with Nico. I feel like a fool. I acted weak,showing the vulnerable side of me. I swore I would never reveal that shade of inconfidence of me ever. I acted like a child who needed to be pitted on.
I'm not a child. And I don't deserve anyone's pitty.
Nico probably thinks of me as a burden, just another selfish girl who feels sorry for herself.
I sunk deeper into the bed; hoping it can somehow swallow my body so I wouldn't have to get up. The sunlight is peeking through the small gap of the blanket. It seems like the sunlight was purposely hitting my eyes. Trying to wake me up. Guess I can thank Apollo .. Or my father for that. I still can't believe he's actually my father. Where has he been ? Why is he now responding to my plees of response ? And then he had the nerve to ask for forgiveness. I'd be a fool to let it go so easily. Thinking about this is just adding fuel to the fire that is already a flame. Pulling the blanket over my head I try to fall back asleep. I would have succeeded. If someone didnt come crashing through my door.
"GOOD MORNING STAR-SHINE. THE EARTH SAYS HELLO." I threw a pillow at Leo. it was way too early for this Shiz.
And I wansnt what you would call a morning person. Ironic.
"Y/N wake upppp! It's 9:00. You need to get to breakfast before Percy eats everything." I replied with a grunt.
I searched for the pillow I threw at Leo to conceal my bedhead hair. Bad enough I look like a zombie but my hair looks like two cats got into street fight. Leo had somehow teleported from my door to the curtains and lifted the window so even more sunlight was swallowing up the room. "Don't you just lovvvvveee the sweet , sweet morning light ?" I hissed.
He laughed and jumped onto my bed. Putting all his weight on my legs. "For a daughter of mr. Sunshine seems like you don't like the morning ?"he pulled out two bolt and screws and started to throw them at my face.
I guess he wasn't leaving until I got up. i sat up and tried to fix my hair the best I could. It really didn't help but it couldn't hurt to try. " It's not like I don't like the sun , I'm just not a morning person. " Stretching I removed the covers to get my legs out from Leo's booty. Showing my bare legs.......why wasn't I wearing shorts?!!!
I shrieked snatching the blanket back covering my legs. I look up to find Leo wide eyed with his face red as my sheets. He started to stutter and a faint smell of smoke started to rise from his hair.
THIS IS SO EMBARRASSING. I MUST HAVE KICKED THEM OFF LAST NIGHT. THIS ALWAYS HAPPENS! How am I going to face him now ?!! With his red face and awkward laughs and those elf ears that make me want to pinch them.
What's wrong with me...
"Umm Y/N I-I-I I'm gonna wait in your living room. You just get ready okay ? " Leo had already gotten up and walked - almost tripping - to my door. i replied with a nod to embarrassed to even look up. Before he closed the door, with a smirk he said one final thing , enough to make me want to scream into my pillow in embarrassment. "By the way you have cute panties. "

I walk out of my room , wearing pants to find leo on the rose red couch dangling his legs over the arm of the couch. His hands were tapping against the leather like texture on the couch; humming a pointless tune. He didn't notice me ,but instead of saying something I observed him. Now that I wasn't in a rush I could focus on his physical features. His hair was very curly. And wild. The swirling locks of charcoal like hair was hypnotizing. It looks so soft. I could physically feel the softness of his hair. His eyes were a nice warm brown. Like fresh fire wood waiting to be burned. They were big and looked like they were filled with wonder and awe. The sunlight even made his eyes look even brighter. His skin was much more tan than mine. He was obviously Mexican due to his shade of skin tone , unlike mine which was way paler. The ears also gave off a vibe off his race. They looked pointy like an elfs. A very cute one •//•.
His fingers were calloused and had slightly dirty fingernails. I could understand. My fingers weren't the cleanest since I do stuff with them.
His hands looked like he has worked with machines ; like they were made to work with mechanics. His clothes were a little baggy and lose on him. His shirt had small spots of oil and grease on them but that didn't matter. Clothes can be cleaned. He looked a little scrawny but he still looked handsome. Just laying there he looks nice.
Unlike myself. There was no way he would be into me. I don't have a chance. I'd like to think he'd have feelings for me. But it doesn't work that way for girls like me. I can't get boys that easy like other girls. I'm not tall or have a big butt like the sterotypical girl a boy would want. No I'm not that at all. I'm me. F/N L/N. I can't change no matter how much I try. I can't be someone I'm not. Besides, who would want a girl with self esteem issues and is scared of losing control. Not him im sure. I study him for one moment until I decide to call out. "I'm ready" I said. Leo perked up and with a smile he leaped off the couch. He took my hand and walked me out the door. "Come on sunshine , we have a lot to do today. Ever seen a metal fire breathing dragon ?" Today was going to be exciting.
