Chapter 10

Y/N P.O.V

Falling into a void of shadows and cold air , only wearing shorts and a thin t-shirt isn't as fun as it sounds.

Its so much better.

It may have felt like your skin was peeling off your face and , the the air was like walking through a frozen wasteland but it was amazing.

Nico had wrapped his arm around my side securing me so I wouldn't fall. Looking into the distance there was nothing ,pitch black. Only the many faint sounds of swirling shadows and the cold air. I felt nico squeeze me tighter under his arm. I looked up. "you ok ?" Nico was was still walking through the dark. Even though I couldn't see him I could feel his head shift down. "I'm fine. Just making sure I don't lose you. " I nodded and continued to walk.

A while later nico spoke. " were about to reach are destination. Hold on. "

All of a sudden nico picked me up bridal style and started to run. I could see what he was taking about. A small light was in the distance. As we got closer the light got brighter.

Nico put a hand to the back of my head and shifted it towards his chest. "Be ready to to land. " I nodded an okay.

A white circle was forming as we got closer. The light was blinding , I could tell nico was wincing under the brightness of the light.

In a matter of seconds nico had jumped through the circle , back into the world.

At least I think back into the world ? or maybe we were in some kind of realm. I don't know I'm giving myself a headache. We arrived at somewhere with a lot of snow. Like a LOT of snow. Like dear sweet Zeus it's colder than hades heart.

I landed on something soft. Yet firm. I poked what I landed on to hear a soft 'oof.

I looked down to find nico groaning under me , rubbing the back of his head.

"Dammit. I wanted to show you china. "Not realizing I was on him he continued to talk. "Judging from the very cold weather I think were in Europe. "

He shifted his head up towards me. He poked my cheek with a expressionless face.

"And your on me ."

I scrambled off of him making a hole in the snow.

He stood up and brushed the snow off his shoulders.

"Damn it's cold. Where are we?"

I wasn't paying attention. I was to busy playing in the snow. I've never seen actual snow. Or felt it. But it was really frigid. I liked it. The snow melted between my fingers as I touched it.

i started to form a little hill and poke holes inside of it.

"Um Y/N ? " I looked up.

Nico was bending down on his knees staring at me with confused expression. "You ok down there? " he looked down at the snow and frowned. "And how are you not freezing?"

I looked down at my clothes.

Shit!

I was only wearing shorts and a t-shirt. And I wasn't freezing to death. You see some of the perks of having 'fire mother killing ' powers are that I can never get cold. Always warm.

So when your sitting in the cold , covered by snow and not looking like a Popsicle, it kinda confuses people. I have no idea what I'm going to tell him. And Nico was getting inpatient.

"I asked you a question Y/N.

Respond. "

What was I supposed to say ?

Whatever I could come up with on the spot , he wouldn't believe. And there no way I would expose my secret to him. "I'm just not cold. That's all. " Smooth Y/N. real smooth.

Nicos P.O.V

Bullshit. Were in the middle of Europe and she's telling me she's not cold. I'd be a fool to believe her.

Why is she lying ? There's noting to gain if she lied.

Y/N backs up pushing herself backwards. Trying to avoid the question huh.

She backs up against a tree and stops moving. Her E/C look up to me , her eyes shift to me to a small path leading towards the woods.

I wrap my hand around hers before she can even attempt to move. I hear her gasp but I pay no attention to it. All I can think is that.. her hand is warm. Not even the slightest sensation of the cold had left a mark on her hand. " I don't understand. How is your body temperature not dropped ?"
