Third Person’s POV

“Gosh, what happened to you?!” Cate’s eyes widened as she watched Peter entering the house, white ink all over his clothes and hair.

But Peter was more concentrated on what was happening in the house. There were suitcases at the entrance and Louis was walking downstairs with one another.

“What’s going on?!” he asked

“Well…” Anna answered “We’ve figured our time in here is up… We’re going to go and travel a bit, enjoy our retirement, now that everything seems to be…” she looked at Peter up and down, he was a mess “fine around here”

“Woah, what happened to you, boy?” Louis smiled, taking a deep breath as he finally dropped the last suitcase.

“Well… I wasn’t expecting it” Pete whispered, trying his best to keep his breath superficial “I was used to see you guys around” he smiled

“Aw” Anna smiled, approaching him “We’re not doing anything here anymore… and I’m sure you’ll take good care of my daughter and granddaughter?”

“Of course, Mrs Foster” he smiled

“Daddy?” Milla suddenly entered the room, laughing when she saw Peter.

“Oh, laughing at me now?” Peter teased

“What happened?” Cate asked again, looking at Peter, worriedly

“Just an accident, Cate” he half smiled at her

“Well… so we must go now” Louis looked at his watch “Leave you three to have a quiet evening and…” he turned to his daughter “be happy”

She smiled “You know you can come and stay whenever you want”

Louis hugged his daughter “I love you, Cate” he kissed her forehead “if anything happens, please call us”

“I will, dad” Cate turned to her mother as Louis gave Milla a big hug

“Gonna miss you, grandpa and grandma!” she hugged them

“Oh, we are going to miss you too, Princess” Louis kissed her cheek

Pete smiled, trying his best to ignore the pain in his chest “I would hug you both, but I believe you won’t want your clothes painted white for the trip?”

They giggled “We sure don’t” Anna kissed his cheek anyway

“Thank you, Doctor” Louis gave him a handshake “For everything you did for them”

Peter smiled “Would have repeated everything again, if necessary”

Cate smiled, her heart melting at his words. She walked over to him and took his hand in hers, as the three watched the old couple leaving.

“Have a safe trip!” Cate shouted as they took off

Pete looked at Cate, smiling.

She looked so beautiful. And more, she didn’t seem to have noticed anything on him, which was good.

For now.

“So, about what happened to YOU!” she turned to him

“Yeah… about me… I should really take a bath… how am I gonna take the ink off my hair?!” his eyes widened

She half smiled “Come, I’ll help you”

Milla giggled “Did you fall into the ink, daddy?”
