Third Person’s POV

She felt her mouth dry and kept playing with her fingers nervously. She could still hear his words in her mind: ‘I’m leaving the infirmary’

She was with her father, when she got the call, and his words were also stuck in her mind: ‘What he really meant was… please come and let me finally see you, I’m dying’

She couldn’t stop wondering if he still felt the same way about her, even after such a long time and mainly, after she pushed him away constantly. She couldn’t stop deciphering how she really felt.

She couldn’t still make out if there was just this major attraction and… sparkle. Or if it was just pity.

And she didn’t mean this in a bad way… but honestly, how would you feel after such a handsome looking guy did all those things to save your life, gave you a child and is paying for that, in prison?

That was it, she didn’t know what she felt.

She was standing in front of the place, ready to go in and ask for him.

She would finally see him. After almost four months.

Four entire months without seeing him. She wondered how he was.

She thought about everything that was there to say.

They never really got to talk, after she woke up.

There was so much to be said about all those five years she had lost.

She constantly watched all the videos he had recorded, but all she could do was cry, watching them. She watched her daughter’s growth, by his side. All the jokes, all the serious moments and just… everything.

It just made her heart ache more… for him.

For doing all that.

“C’mon Cate… just step inside” she said to herself.

As to Pete, he was only able to leave the infirmary right before lunchtime. Thanking to everyone in there, giving one big and warm hug to Dr. Gomez, he finally want back to the normal prison life.

You can look for me whenever you want, or you need something. Alright? Dr. Gomez had told him, with watery eyes. Try not to be killed out there.

But nothing of that even crossed his mind. He was careless about that fact.

He was finally able to get visits, and that was the only thing occupying his mind.

Would Cate really visit? She promised she would.

I hope she does… He thought.

He walked inside the dining hall to get some lunch and could feel many eyes on him.  Only when he saw himself next to one of the big guys who beat the hell out of him, on the line for the food… oh, he did tremble.

“Back, doc?” he looked at him

“No, just delirious, you” Pete spoke “Why, don’t tell me you’re planning on attacking me again, with your little group”

“Shut up, doc. Don’t get into my nerves” he whispered, threatening “Look, I’m sorry, alright. I’m outta here” he spoke, grabbing his tray and leaving.

Pete frowned, confused.

Sorry?

He was sorry?

Woah.

Trying to ignore that, and all the other eyes on him, he went to sit in a corner. All he wanted was to get over with his lunch and leave to his cell. Or perhaps to the gardens and relax.
