Chapter 4

I felt anxious with each minute passing by. I couldn't tell if it was just me being paranoid, or it's my gut telling me something bad is about to happen.

I was walking beside Piers, along with the rest of their team, as we headed to this building. It was the city hall.

The place around us was oddly empty, there weren't any monsters, or rebels trying to kill us.

Two soldiers kicked the door down before all of us set foot in the building.

I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

There were a bunch of giant green lumps in the room, and they all had a shape of a human being.

It's kind of resembles a cocoon, like the one's caterpillars made.

"What the hell happened here?" I hear Chris ask, his gun raised and ready to shoot.

There was a giant cocoon next to me, it looked like a man who was about to run.

The cocoon is glossy... but I couldn't see what was inside.

Slowly, I reached my hand out to touch it but someone held my hand and stopped me.

It was Piers.

"It could infect you" He says. He let go of my hand as I set mine down. "Come on, they found an entrance upstairs"

I quietly followed him behind as we went up the stairs.

"Piers"

"Yeah?"

"Earlier, you called my brother an insurgent."

"He is. He's been working with them for four years now... did you... did you not know this?" He asks, looking at me from his shoulder.

I shake my head, "No. He never told me" So that's the reason why he's always away.

After that Piers and I didn't talk, I just quietly followed them as we went deeper in the building.

While we were walking down the halls when I noticed something move at the corner.

I went along with rest of them to see what it was. We ended up in the room, there were a bunch of syringes in the room, and a bunch of those same cocoons as well.

"They were exposed to a virus" A silky voice speaks out. They all raised their guns to where the sound came from.

A lady stepped out of the shadows with her hands in the air. She was wearing a revealing lilac dress and a red scarf.

What kind of lady wears that in an environment like this?

"Who are you?" Chris asks.

"Gentlemen, I'm sure this isn't necessary" She makes an attempt to set her hand down and take a step forward when the rest of them aims at her. She stops in her tracks and raises her hand again.

She was pretty. Her hair was cut short and she was slim. She looked young, probably in her late twenties.

"What do you know about all this?" Chris asks again in a harsher tone.

"Two words. Neo umbrella" She speaks up. "I'm Ada Wong, I work here."

Neo-umbrella? I have heard about Umbrella. It was all over the news, years ago. That company was involved with what happened to Raccoon City.

"I can help you find a way out of this building; I know a shortcut"
