The pair woke up in a lab. Jake was attached to a machine that made him stood up straight. He struggled against the straps but he knew that it wasn't going to loosen no matter how much he struggled against it.
"I'm sorry" Jake heard Sherry speak behind him, her voice laced with sadness, "This is all my fault. I should've been able to see through his lies"
"Hey, you were just following orders, remember?" Jake reminded her. She didn't say anything for a moment.
"Why didn't you run?" Sherry asked.
"What?"
"You told me you would run... you promised that you would go after Sapphire... why didn't you?"
"I couldn't just leave you there, not like that anyway," Jake replied, "Besides, Sapphire would want me to do that, she'd be mad if she knew I left you alone." And I couldn't leave you alone... I don't know why... I just can't...
The lights on the room began to flash red and the straps that were holding the pair were released. The two managed to swiftly land on their feet.
Jake went to one of the doors and tried to open it, "It's locked." He pointed out. He went to one of the glass and sees their weapons stashed on a table. "And all our weapons are on the other room."
"I see a vent over here, give me a boost" Jake went to where she was standing and bent his knees slightly and clasped his fingers together. She placed her foot on Jake's hands and he lifted her up. She holds onto the vent and pulls herself up.
Jake watched as she jumps down to the other room and knocks out one of the guards there. She destroys the lock of the room where Jake was in by firing her gun at a switch. Jake steps out of the room and she hands him his weapons.
"I wonder who let us out" Sherry speaks up while they stepped out of the room. They ended up in a hallway, passing by a lot of dead bodies in the rooms that they walked along.
"Beats me" Jake replied.
While they walking, the pair heard an animalistic sound from the vents. A slimy looking thing crawls out of it.
Jesus Christ... What the hell is that?
The slimy monster fuses itself with another part that looks like it and stood up.
The pair lifted their guns and fired at it. The bullet didn't even faze it. It screeched at them, making the two both turn on their heels and run. The pair knew that they would run out of bullets if they tried to kill it. The two could hear it chasing after them as they ran. When they passed by another vent, another one of those things crawled out.
"Over there!" Sherry points to an exit. They both went through the doors and Jake spotted what looked like the controls for it. Jake fired his gun twice at it and it sparked before the doors shut.
"I hate this place" Jake muttered.
They ended up at an area that looked like a dome. A couple of feet from from the two looked like a pit and when they looked up there was a giant cocoon that had huge wires attached to it, along with a metal rail that kept it hung in the air.
"What the..." Jake looked at Sherry and her jaw was hanging open. "This is not good, if that things hatches..."
Jake heard footsteps behind him. He turns around and aims his gun at what it was and saw Redfield with one of his 'boy-scouts', as Jake liked to call them.
"Chris!" Sherry says, she was happy to see the older Redfield.
"It's good to see the two of you are okay" Chris says.
"What are you guys doing here?" Sherry asks.
"We were notified that you two of you were locked up in here"
Jake scoffs and their eyes land on him, "Looks like you saved the day again, huh?" He walks a couple of feet away from them as he looked around the place.
"I can see your father in you"
What? Jake's eyes snapped at Chris, "You knew him?"
"Yeah... And I'm the one who killed him"
Jake hates his father, the infamous Albert Wesker. He hates Wesker for all the things that he had done. He hates Wesker because he didn't even bother helping Jake's mother while she had him.
But deep down, Jake still wanted to meet him, at least even see what he looked like. Jake knew that he can never change the fact that Wesker's blood is what flows through him.
"Jake" Sherry gently holds his arm and he looks at her. She had a frown on her face.
"Tell me" Jake spoke up as he looked at Chris. "Were you just following orders... or was it personal?"
"Both" Chris had his eyes on Jake. Jak couldn't blame Chris, all the things Jake knew about his father... It wasn't pretty. It was vile, cruel, and selfish. Wesker experimented on people. Wesker thought of himself as someone who was better and higher than everyone around him.
"I know that you and Sapphire... you probably thought of wanting to meet him—at some point. But Wesker..."
"I think you got your info's wrong. Sapphire is my half sister, She's not related to Wesker in any way"
