Sherry walked ahead of Jake as they stepped out of the room through another door that was on the far, upper right of the room. The pair ended up in another hallway that lead them to what looked like a storage room. There were a bunch of various weapons; guns, bombs, and missiles.

"Jake" Sherry calls Jake's attention. "I think those are Escape pods" She points up. Jake follows her eyes and saw three massive sizes of it. They headed to it with Sherry leading the way. The pair ran up the stairs and Sherry goes on to the computer.

"I'm gonna need a few minutes to get through the system" Sherry says as she went to work on the computer.

Jake set Sapphire down, leaning her back gently against the wall. He sat down next to her.

Her eyes slowly flutter open.

"Hey, how are you feeling?" Jake asks her, a frown etched on his face.

"Jake?"

"Yeah, it's me"

"What... How... Where are we?" She sits up straight. Her eyes grew wide and she looks down on herself. "What the fuck!?"

"You're just as confused as I am" Jake tell her. She looks around and her eyes landed on Sherry for a moment.

She then turns her attention to me. "What are you doing here?"

"We were locked up here. You, what are you doing here? I thought Chris and his boy scouts were supposed to watch over you? How on earth did you end up here?"

She looks away and frowns for a moment, "I... was taken to a facility when I was discharged from the hospital. They said they needed my blood for a vaccine and..." She began to tear up. Jake felt a pain in my chest at the sight of her.

She has a very soft heart, that's one trait of hers that Jake wished he had.

"They... killed the people that sneaked me out of the lab I was in and... and they injected a bunch of stuff in me. I don't know what it was..."

Jake pulled her in for a hug and she sobs on his shoulder. "The things they did to me... All of it... I hate them! I hate them so much I want them dead!"

"They're gonna pay, all right? The authorities are taking care of everything. They're gonna pay" He soothingly rubs her back in an attempt to calm her down.

They heard sirens go in the room while the lights flashed red.

"Guys! I got one of the Escape pod, come on!" Sapphire tried to get up but she could barely walk so Jake just picked her up again as they went to the pod. The doors shut seconds when they got inside.

Thank fuck... we can finally rest, even if it's just for a moment.

Sapphire was leaning her head against Jake's shoulder with her eyes closed. Sapphire opens her eyes and notices Sherry looking at her, particularly at the long scar on Sapphire's leg.

"I'm sorry" Sherry's face turns red, "I... I didn't mean to..."

"It's okay" Sapphire gives Sherry a small smile. "It was from an accident when I was a kid. I got hit by a car."

"Yeah, Mom and I told you to stay put at a waiting area but you chased after us." Jake points out, shaking his head at the memory that flashed in his head. He was hoping he could forget about that.

"I was scared!" She says in a defensive tone.

"It was across the street! You could see us from the window of the store!" Jake points out to her.

"Still, I didn't want to be left alone there!"

"Whatever. God, you are lucky we have the same blood type."
