RYLEE

"I don't want to talk to you." I shoved past Damon when I got back to the boarding house. "Where's Stefan?" He followed me.

"I said I don't want to talk to you."

"What have I done now little sister?"

"Well for starters, it seems that in my absence you've become more ignorant,"

"Rylee," he stopped me, blocking my path to the stairs. "Damon," I growled.

"I'm not letting you go anywhere until you tell me what's wrong,"

"What if I told you that the plan didn't work? That Stefan's still without humanity? That he left me for dead?"

"I'd say that You're lying. Stefan would never let anything happen to you. You're everything to him." His face contradicted his words. He looked almost scared. I shrugged. "Nice try," he smirked. "I really don't want to talk to you right now," I persisted.

"Well too bad,"

"Let her go, Damon." Klaus shouted down. Damon grunted, he was clearly agitated and at this point so am I. He shoved away from the stairs none the less. "I'll be right back." I forced a smile, before running up the stairs.

"Welcome back, love." Klaus greeted, kissing my cheek. He looked shocked when I pushed him away. "Save it." I rolled my eyes.

"Well that doesn't sound good,"

"It's not,"

"Whats going on?" He edged his way back over to me. "Your bullshit's catching up to you, Klaus. You and Damon both." I sneered.

"What on earth are you talking about?"

As if he didn't already know.

"You've both been lying to me this entire time!" I seethed.

"I have not been lying to you!" He spat. His sudden rage almost had me scared, but my own rage prevented it. There's no way I'm letting this Pratt get to me.

"You certainly aren't telling me everything! You're keeping secrets and it sickens Me." He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He was trying to calm down. Anger still burned in me however. I could feel my face turning red.

"I'm sorry," he got quieter. I kept my mouth shut as he took me by the shoulders.

"Truly I am, but things are too complicated right now. I promise I'll tell you,"

I could still just barely contain my anger. "Now." I snapped. "What?" He seemed genuinely confused.

"I want an explanation now, and from the both of you." I explained. "Darling-"

"Klaus. You either tell me right now or I'm leaving." I threatened.

"Fine," he followed me back down the stairs. "What's going on?" Stefan asked from the couch. "I see the plan worked after all," Klaus muttered. "I'm sorry, were you not eaves dropping a few minutes ago?" I quipped, to which he rolled his eyes.

Stefan raised an eyebrow, "Trouble in paradise?"

"Forget it. Where's Damon?" I asked.

"Don't know, he wasn't here when I walked in." Stefan shrugged.

"Damon!" I yelled.

"I needed a drink," he walked in from the kitchen holding a glass.
"Brother," he acknowledged Stefan.

"Damon." Stefan nodded. "Bit early isn't it?"

"Trust me it's appropriate." Damon took a big gulp of his bourbon.
"Now what's this all about?" He plopped down next to his brother.
"Stay sharp, Damon. Lord knows it's hard enough to talk to you when you're sober." I rolled my eyes.
"Talk fast." He took another drink.

"Tell me about the cure," I prompted. Damon nearly choked. I nearly gagged when he spit his drink back into his glass.

"Gross,"

He sat the drink down and looked at Klaus. Stefan sighed, "We already know,"

"Who told you?" Klaus snapped.
"Who do you think?" I muttered.

"Katherine's never been good at keeping secrets,"

"You should Have known better,"

"Of course," he growled. "I've already told you, it's too complicated at the moment,"

"Why do you need Stefan?" I persisted. Klaus hesitated which further tested my patience.

"Answer me," I snapped.

"He can get to Elena,"

"That makes no sense," Stefan jumped in. "Elena and I aren't even together anymore, and at this point we're barely even friends,"

"But she trusts you," Damon elaborated. "We need you to get to Elena so that we can get to Jeremy,"

"What does Jeremy have to do with any of this?" I nagged.

"We need a hunter,"

"Jeremy's a hunter?"

"Of course he is and we need him in order to get a map to take us to the cure," Damon rolled his eyes.

"Why does he have the map?"

"I told you, it's complicated," Klaus grumbled.

"One more question,"

"What is it then?"

"Have you both gone insane?! There's know way you're sending Stefan after a hunter!" I objected.

"He'll be fine," Klaus insisted.
"What even makes you think that he would want to do this?" I speculated.

"Just by looking at him I can tell you that he does," Damon spoke up.

"How so?"

"He'd do anything for you,"
"And as an added bonus, he might get Elena back," Damon concluded.

The tension had become suffocating. We all stayed quiet for a moment, then Damon nodded, taking it as a confirmation. None of us were sure of what to say.

Klaus cleared his throat, "right then, I think that's enough for one night,"
We all went our separate ways, still we remained silent.

I gathered some and blanket and some pillows when Klaus and I made it to our room. He watched me closely before asking, "Where are You going?"

"I'm not going anywhere," I shrugged.
"You are." I handed him the bedding.
"I am?" He took them, confusion clearly written on his face. "Yep." I climbed into bed, turning off the lamp.
"Where?" He asked.

"Anywhere but here,"

"And close the door on your way out." I waved him off.
