Chapter 2
We ring the doorbell and two sophisticated people came to open it. "Casey and Gabe welcome," Mr Gifford says and I smile.
"Hello Mr and Mrs Gifford," I say smiling and they smiled too.
"Vanessa you look lovely and Flora and Eric please. Do come on in," Flora says leading us all in.
"Meet my son William," Eric says and I smile.
"Hello William, nice to meet you. I am Vanessa Beckett" I say and he just looks at me.
"Nice to meet you too Vanessa and call me Will," he says and I nod.
"So Vanessa, I've heard that you got your master's in Business," his mom asks and I nod.
"I just did about a week ago," I say beaming because I was proud of it.
"Where did you get your masters from?" his dad asked and I looked at him.
"Wharton sir," I say and he laughs.
"You are so formal that it's sweet. Call me Eric please," he says and I smile.
"Why don't Vanessa and Will go talk?" my mom says and he gets up leading me to their swimming pool area.
"Did you agree to this marriage?" he asks suddenly and I look at him.
"My dad told that it was important so I did. Did you?" I asked me back and he looks at me.
"I never even wanted to get married but my dad told that it was important so here I am getting married to you," he says looking at me and I was hurt.
"Why didn't you want to get married?" I asked and he rolled my eyes.
"Well it's because of my previous relationship with Sophia Poastil. We broke up but I never stopped loving her. Well she did and is dating someone else when I am getting married to a stranger," he says harshly and it hurt me even more.
"When are we getting married?" I asked and he looks at me unbelievably.
"In a 3 days," he says and I stop walking. 3 days? That's too soon.
"What about my dress? A dress can't be ready in just 4 days," I ask and he gives me an "are you kidding me?" look.
"Is that what you seriously care about?" he asks and I answer.
"Well no but I have to wear a wedding gown to get married," I say and he gives me a dirty look.
"You do not have to dress up and all because I am not going to cry when you walk down the aisle or whisper I love you when you stand in front of me. It's just for formality," he says and even though I knew that, him saying it makes it more painful.
"Getting married is getting married for me. I have to look good on my marriage day where the marriage might be true or fake," I say and he ignores me.
"Well you seem to be excited to get married," he says and I narrowed my eyes.
"Well, I have got no choice. I can say no to you and walk away but my dad asked me to so I am doing it for him," I say in a soft tone.
"Let's go back in," I say walking off and he follows me.
"I was about to call you guys. Dinner's ready," his mom says leading us to the dining table.
"Have some Fish Vanessa," his mom says signalling a waitress to serve it to me and I reject it.
"I would love to Flora but I am allergic to Fish," I say and the waitress just goes.
"What all are you allergic to then Vanessa?" his dad asked like he was interested.
"Mushrooms, all sea foods, Peanuts and cats," I say and everyone nods, well Will didn't.
"So no cats for you guys then," my mom says and we laugh, Will again didn't.
"Vanessa darling, come on I have saved something that has been in our family and I have to pass it onto you because you are my future daughter-in-law," his mom says after we had our dinner and she hands me a box.
"Thank you so much," I say taking it and it was a very beautiful diamond ring.
"I was just wondering what about my wedding gown. I am getting married in 3 days and I don't have one," I say and Flora smiles.
"Don't worry Vanessa. We have a family friend who owns one of the most amazing bridal wear in the whole world and you can choose any dress you want and they will get it ready for you even in a short period of time," she says and she hands me a card.
"This is Mary Simpson and she knows you already so go there as soon as possible, and everything will be done," she says and I take a picture of the card for safety and I put it in my fancy wallet.
"Where are they going to live after marriage?" my dad asks and I had that question too.
"Will, tell them," Eric nudges a Will that is so into his phone.
"Will," Eric raises his voice and Will snaps to the present and clears his throat.
"I have purchased a house for us in Beverly Hills and it is fully furnished so we move in as soon as we get married I guess," he says and goes back to looking on his phone.
He gets up and walks out. I excuse myself and I follow him too.
"Penelope, I can't meet you today. I am having dinner with the girl I told you about," he says and I assumed that she was saying something.
"Yeah the one I am getting married too. She really is pissing me off. I know baby, I want to meet you too but I can't. I will get to you as soon as possible. Bye baby," he says ending the call and he turns around.
"Jesus, can you stop spying on me," he says trying to walk past me but I hold his arm.
"You do know that we are getting married in 3 days?" I ask and he nods in a duh way.
"You have to stop seeing her," I say and he scoffs.
"I am serious Will. If I am going to get married to you, I do not want you with some other woman," because it was true.
"Chill dude. We are getting married for fake. It's not like its real," he says and my cross my arms.
"I know that but it is marriage Will. I do not want you playing with my heart," I say but he walks away. Since I was young, I was thought to have patience so I calm myself down and walk back in.
"Well it was nice meeting you all. We better get going," my dad says standing up and we all did.
"Bye Flora and Eric. It was nice meeting you," I say hugging them and they do too.
"Bye Will," I say whose eyes were fixed to his phone's screen.
"Yeah whatever," he says and I walk to my car.
"How was the meeting Vans?" my mom asks and I shrug.
"It was fine," I say and she pats my back.
"I am sure that this will turn out great," she says and I hope so too.
