Epilogue – No Holding Back - Series
Every Wednesday at 6:45am, Maddy would settle with her coffee from 'The Coffee Bar' and did her weekly 'workout' with the magazine she wrote for. Every Wednesday, she anxiously skimmed the front page for her alias then flipped to the page her work could be read. This way she can re-read her work in black-and-white. Just as she had her routine, 'grey sweater' stuck to his own. He bought the same magazine she purchased and sat at a corner table perusing. Maddy would be hoping that it was her column that caught his attention. She could never muster the courage to ask. She sat in silence, meditating on his facial expressions, seeing his concentration and a smile every now then, always hoping it was in agreement to what she wrote. After twenty minutes he would get up and leave, but not before nodding to acknowledge her presence.
This went on for 2 months . Maddy would semi-stalk the man in the grey sweater until on fateful Wednesday 'grey sweater' walked across to her table on his way out and asked her the one question she secretly wished he did.
"Hi, would you like to go out on a date?"
Was this stranger actually taking to her? She hesitated for a moment and he saw the wavering in her movements.
"I'm not a stalker but I've noticed you coming here every Wednesday and always alone so I figured we can do our Wednesday rituals together. This way you can have a little company while you have your coffee and I can ask your opinion on things I read in the magazine". Such a simple explanation and still he didn't offer his name.
As she thought about not knowing his name he blurted out simultaneously stretching his hand out for a handshake, "By the way, I am Ricardo".
Was he phsychic also?
"Hi Ricardo, I'm Maddy"
"Is that short for a longer name or something?"
"Not really' Parents got a co-ed name in-case I was a boy. Ended up a girl in the end". Maddy laughed and watched a smile brighten 'Ricardo's' face.
She only now noticed the deep sink in his cheeks. Cute dimples she thought to herself.
"Nice name anyway Maddy. So about that time share?" He laughed after saying the words aloud.
"Sure, no problem. See you tomorrow then?
"Tomorrow", and winked before walking off.
Maddy sat wondering if 'grey sweater', wait Ricardo had eyes on him. She was not dressed in any sexy way but she always loved her boobs. He boobs were here favourite part, and she tried her best to show them off as much as possible. With a plunging neckline of a maxi floral printed dress, and a cardigan, she looked like a regular curvy woman. Could he tell she had wide hips and thighs some compare to a rhinocerous?
No one would think she was a writer, worst yet a smut writer. After all she did write erotica for the local magazine. It paid enough but her dream was to write something that the world would remember her by.
AN. If you cant wait for this new story drop two purple hearts in the comments.
