*Halima's POV*

Harrison and I had been talking all night and I hadn't fumbled with the words at any point. Never had I met a boy so nice and calm, who made me feel comfortable and safe. I definitely understood what Olive saw in him, and I was jealous of her. Jealous of her beauty. Jealous of the fact that Haz was into her and not me. Later at night, Hazza wanted a cup of water, so we went to the kitchen to fetch him some. I sat down on the kitchen counter as he drank the glass of water in one big gulp. I watched him as he moved closer to me, step by step. When he was directly in front of me, I felt a fire burning in my stomach. Eagerness. His soft fingers brushed a loose strand of hair behind my ear, leaning closer to me. I felt his breath on my lips and felt my heart beat faster and faster. Soft. His lips were as soft as the fluffy clouds in the sky. Haz pushed himself against me and caressed my thighs as our lips moved in sync.

Then something terrible happened. A gasp. We instantly broke apart and saw Olive looking at us with a betrayed expression. Oh no, we messed up big time. I felt like the worst friend in the world.

*Tom's POV*

I went to the kitchen to grab a drink but found Olive paralysed against the doorframe. I had no idea what was going on, until I saw Harrison and Halima standing unbelievably close to one another. They had kissed. In front of their date and best friend. I shot Haz a glare and dragged Olive to my room.

"Are you okay?" I asked her as she plopped onto my bed.

"I- I'm shocked," she stuttered while looking into the distance.

"Olive, darling, maybe you should get some rest. It's been a long day," perhaps distracting her was a decent idea. "Haz was supposed to drive us home." Silence.

"Take my bed. I'll sleep on the couch," I insisted and gave her a reassuring smile. She refused to take my bed and I refused to let a guest sleep on the couch. It turned out that all beds and the couch were preoccupied so I sat down in a chair in my room, trying to get some sleep. It was uncomfortable and made my back hurt.

"Tommy," Olive whispered.

"Yeah?" I yawned while stretching my back.

"You can lie beside me if you want to. There's plenty of space," she motioned to the space next to her. I rejected her proposal, but she was stubborn. In reality, I was more than happy to accept, so I did.

*Olive's POV*

I fell asleep with Tom beside me and woke up with his arms wrapped around my waist. My cheeks burned and I felt my stomach flutter. He was still asleep. I casually studied his face and handsome features, as I reminded myself to keep my fingers away from his cheeks, no matter how badly I wanted to caress them. It became so difficult to contain the urge to caress his cheek, so I stepped out of bed and went downstairs to make breakfast. It was the least I could do.

I settled on baking pancakes and began measuring the ingredients. I was almost done when Tom decided to greet me with his presence.

"Good morning darling, what are you up to?" his raspy voice asked me. A soft smile caught my eye. He was rubbing his eyes.

"Darling?" I questioned with furrowed eyebrows.

"Yeah... That's-, I-, do you mind it," his cheeks flushed, and I saw him try to hide it. A smile spread across my face, "No, I don't mind."

He peeked over my shoulder and licked his lips, "God, I love pancakes - as long as they don't taste like Harrison's. They're absolutely terrible."

"I promise you, they're better," I lightly pushed my hip against his, which made him giggle.

"I smell pancakes," someone said from across the room. Not just someone, Astrid. She had always praised my cooking skills, especially my ability to bake pancakes.

"I hope you're hungry, because I made a ton," I teased her. She smiled with her teeth and hugged me. "Suddenly it's my birthday again," she exclaimed and sat down in front of me.

Tom asked her about Sam's whereabouts, who walked in less than five minutes later. Astrid kissed me on the cheek as she ate the pancake, I had purposedly ruined for her. "I just had the most amazing kiss ever," she whispered in my ear.

"I'm flattered that you find my cheek that soft, but I don't see how-," she face-palmed herself.

"Not you, Sam!" My eyes widened and my smile turned into a smirk.

"Tell me all about it!" I squealed like a little girl. As Astrid told the story of how her and Sam ended up kissing and sleeping in the same bed, I wondered where the last two people were hiding.

*Tom's POV*

Damn. Astrid and Sam kissed? It usually took Sam months to build up the courage to kiss a girl he liked. I supposed it was a team effort. As Olive finished up the last pancake, I set the table and put fruit and syrup on the table as well. We stuffed our faces with the delicious pancakes, and I had never felt so full after breakfast before.

We planned to hang out the entire day, perhaps to go shopping and eat lots of ice cream. Then Haz and Halima crossed my mind. Where were they? And what had happened after I dragged Olive away from the kitchen?

"Sorry to bring this up, but where are Harrison and Halima?" I shot Olive an apologetic look.

She brushed it offand forced a smile. Before anyone could answer my question, we heard slow footstepson the stairs. Speaking of the devil, I thought and watched Olivecarefully.
