*Olive's POV*
Upon arriving at the house, the godly smell of Italian food and spices worked its way up my nose. Heaven. I was in heaven. After dinner, we unpacked our stuff and went out on the balcony to enjoy a nice glass of white wine. The sun was slowly setting, and I suddenly felt the urge to go for a walk.
"I'm going for a walk," I exclaimed and went to fetch my shoes.
"Sure, weirdo," they replied playfully in unison, which made me smile.
On my walk, Tom and Harrison popped up in my mind. Both were insanely handsome, which made me google them. There wasn't much stuff on Harrison, mostly just Instagram stuff. But Tom... Man, the internet was full of Tom Holland. I could keep scrolling for hours and hours, which I made sure not to do. I wouldn't say I was stalking either of them... I was just doing some research... For scientific purposes, perhaps? Whoops.
In addition to my research, I might have planned to rewatch Spider-Man: Homecoming, when I would get back. Definitely not stalkerish. Just chilling... Watching some Marvel... Maybe I was, in fact, a stalking psycho, maybe not. Who was I to judge?
50 metres from the house, I received a call from Harrison. My entire body began to tremble, and I was jumping up and down in excitement.
Should I or shouldn't I answer? I thought to myself.
"Hey Olive! I was wondering if you might want to hang out sometime?" he sounded nervous.
First of all, why did he have to call? He could literally just have sent a text, but okay, I guess. Second, it was kind of adorable that he made an entire phone call, just to ask if I wanted to hang out.
"Yeah, sure. When?" My voice was calm, but my insides were bubbling.
"How about right now"
"Right now?!" My breath hitched.
"Would it be a problem? I know it's very soon, but considering I'm in Verona right now, I thought I'd give it a shot," he explained, clearly rambling on.
I ended up accepting to meet up with him, after asking him several times if he was some sort of pervert, to which he assured me he was not. He asked me to meet him at a restaurant called "Il Cibo è Buono", which more or less translates to "The Food Is Good". What a name, *insert skull emoji*.
Shit, was I really doing this?
I guess so.
I had to tell the girls. I couldn't just leave without someone knowing my whereabouts and plans. One of the cons of being a woman... I decided to tell the girls after I had changed clothes. Wait. Was it... a date? It surely couldn't be, could it? I chose a cute dress, just to be sure.
"Looking extra juicy today, going somewhere?" Halima knew something was up. I had no idea how she could always tell. Maybe she had a sixth sense or something. I went with the truth to make things less complicated. Why make a problem out of something that wasn't one?
"Listen, if he tries to lay a finger on you, I want you to show him what we learned at karate. Don't hold back, Liv. Otherwise, he'll have to deal will me, and I never hold back," she warned me. "Have fun though."
As I stepped inside, the smell of pancakes met me. Pancakes, yummy. I found him in a corner, waving to me with the same sweet smile. He engulfed me in an awkward hug, yet he didn't seem to notice the tension. Unless he chose to ignore it.
"I am so thrilled you made it. You had me worried for a second there," he blushed and tried to hide it.
"Well, here I am," I exclaimed and gave him a strained smile. Soon, the smile turned into a real one. He was smiling a very wide and contagious smile. Gorgeous. He motioned for me to take a seat, and so I did. As he sat down in front of me, he eyed me up and down.
"You look stunning, and your dress is absolutely adorable."
I felt my cheeks heat up and thanked him.
Well... Nothing lasts forever, as they say.
"Oh, hey Olive," a familiar voice echoed through the room. My face turned in the direction of the sound. Freya. That little, lousy skank. My face instantly dropped, and it amused her a lot.
"How are you doing, sugar pie?" She asked like the snake she is.
"Just fine," I tried to dismiss her by ignoring her presence.
"I'm fine as well, thanks for asking. Are you not going to introduce me to your friend?" she snapped. Her ugly eyebrows were slightly lifted, and I wanted to rip them right off her face. They were probably fake, just like everything else about her.
No, I actually wasn't planning on doing that, I screamed on the inside.
"Haz, this is Freya Müller, Freya, this is Harrison," I sighed defeatedly and rolled my eyes. Haz gave her a small awkward smiled and focused his gaze on me.
"Hi, Harrison Osterfield," she beamed and put her hand on his arm. Osterfield? She knew him? What the actual-, was my first thought.
"I'm sorry, do I know you?" He asked her puzzled.
"No, but you can get to know me right now, if you want to. Olive and I are really good friends, I'm sure she doesn't mind if I join you guys."
Liar.
After spending kindergarten, school, and college with her, I definitely wasn't a really good friend of hers. I would rather die. She was one of the most annoying and awful people I'd ever met. Haz felt my annoyance and tried to politely reject her, but she had to be persistent.
"Freya, we are not friends and never have been. Honestly, you're the worst person I've ever met, so please, for the love of God, leave us alone," I yelled in a whisper. "Clearly you just want Haz. Gold-digger as usual. Go find someone else to toy with."
She was as baffled as I was. I had never talked so ill to anyone before, but she had had it coming for years. I contemplated whether I had overreacted or not, however, I came to the conclusion that it was fitting.
She had a bitch-fit and went completely insane, yelling things I'd never ever quote. Finally, Haz stepped in, "Listen, Freya. If you don't mind, we're in the middle of a date and you're ruining it."
Tears streamed down her face as she ran screaming out of the restaurant. She was a psychopath, no doubt.
"Date?" I asked with a grin plastered on my face. He smiled and put his hand on top of mine. "I said it to get rid of her, but I was sort of hoping you'd want it to be a date."
I nodded, "A date it is then."
