I can't believe that ratchet south sider had the audacity to show his face here again. I expected more from Betty, I really did. We have been friends for most of high school now, and we've been having to keep it a secret from Jughead because I "gave him a hard time when we were younger" and she "doesn't want him to get hurt."
LIKE WTF?!
That was part of the reason I wanted to give Betty a ride. Because I was sick of hiding our friendship from him. Also because I wanted to see him getting betrayed by his one and only friend.
This morning I saw Betty approach Jughead. There was no way I was about to let the poor, sweet, innocent, Betty ruin everything by talking to this boy. I already told everyone at school how much of a pathetic being he is, imagine how that would look when one of us would go and have a conversation with this kid! So I did the right thing pulling her away. Don't get me wrong, I'm not like this to every kid with low social status at my school. It's just him. Yeah, I was sort of a jerk to him in middle school, but I have changed a lot since my brothers death. Instead of ruining his life for his dad murdering my brother, I became a much better person which actually is what made me grow my popularity.
When lunch time FINALLY came. I sat at a table with Kevin and Veronica. Kevin was mostly Betty's friend, but we all grew attached to him. Betty usually sat at a table with Jughead and Archie, but this year things were going to be different. I already told her that this year, no matter what she would sit with us.
I looked into the crowd of students and saw Betty, but she was with someone else. They were talking and laughing, I almost felt happy for the girl. This was finally the time when she was actually interested in someone. Until I saw who it was.
Jughead took a seat next to Kevin, and Betty sat next to Veronica.
I wanted to scream in her face for being such an ignorant piece of trash but I kept my cool.
"Betty," I said while clearing my throat. "When I told you to sit with us, I did mean alone."
"Cheryl!" Kevin said.
"Yeah Cher, relax I think it's great to have someone else sitting with us."
Veronica said.
Betty hadn't said anything about any of this which made me upset. Before she could respond to anything, Veronica reached her hand across the table to introduce herself.
"Hi, Veronica Lodge."
"No need for an introduction, basically everyone at school knows who you are."
He said.
Why were they welcoming him? He is the definition of people who shouldn't be sitting with us. We might as well add a sign to our table that says "Everyone is welcome to sit with us, especially freaks who have no other place to sit."
"Betty talks so much about you", Veronica says.
"Does she now?" He says while looking at me straight in the eye.
"Don't get cocky" I say, loud enough for the table next to us to hear.
He looks at me and nods like he was accepting the challenge.
"ANY-ways, she says your interested in writing, is that something you want to do in college?" Veronica says. I couldn't believe my friends at this moment. They all deserted me for some hobo.
"I don't really know. I am interested in journaling, but I heard it's tough to get into."
I stare at him with hatred in my eyes. He sees it, but ignores me. This kid is just asking to stir up trouble. I looked over at Betty and her face glowed with excitement.
"Ooo you should join the blue and gold Jug, I asked Weatherbee if we could reopen the newspaper and he said yes."
Kevin rolls his eyes.
"Betty is a writing nerd herself. She writes stories for the register to help her mom, and our English teacher already loves her, IT'S THE FIRST DAY, HOW DO YOU DO IT ELIZABETH COOPER, HOW, ALL OF MY TEACHERS ALREADY HATE ME!"
Everyone laughs. I see Jughead look at Betty and I raise an eyebrow. He looks at her up and down and cracks a smile. I smirk, and come up with something to further prove my evidence.
"WHAT IS HAPPENING?!" I yell while standing up. We get a lot of stares but that's the least of my worries.
"YOU ALL DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THIS?!"
"Why would we?" Veronica says.
"LOOK AT HIM HE'S A -A LOSER!"
"CHERYL!" Betty yells. We were both now standing facing each other. My plan is working.
"WHATS YOUR PROBLEM?!"
"MY PROBLEM? WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM?! WHAT IS ALL OF YOUR GUYS PROBLEM? WE ARE THE MOST POPULAR GROUP IN SCHOOL, WE DON'T SIT WITH PEOPLE LIKE THAT!" I look at Jughead in disgust. He isn't hurt by this at all. Instead he is just smiling, and letting all of my friends do the work for him.
"CHERYL, KEEP THIS UP AND YOU WILL BE THE MOST HATED PERSON AT SCHOOL!" Veronica says, joining Betty.
"Why do you seem to care so much Veronica, do you like him?"
I quickly turn to look at Betty and jughead's face. Betty doesn't seem the slightest bit phased, but Jughead looks like he had just seen a ghost. He put on a fake sad face and got up. The only person sitting now was Kevin.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to ruin your guys friendship. I will go sit somewhere else, no big deal."
He started to walk away.
"No Juggie please." Betty said, grabbing the beanie wearing boy's hand. Jughead turned around and looked opened his mouth a little bit. Only a blind person would not be able to see the sparks between them.
"You know what, let's all go!" Kevin said grabbing his trey.
"Bye Cheryl."
They all left to a different table, but I couldn't care less. I finally have a way to break Jughead Jones' heart. To make him pay for that night in Toledo, and for his dad shooting my Jason.
A/N: ( Some back round info/ in this story Fp really is Jason's killer, but only Cheryl and her family knows about it and they have been keeping it a secret for blackmail. That is why in the chapter where the Blossom's and the Jones' were fighting Clifford was there, because if Clifford didn't kill Jason there was no reason for him to hang himself.)
