I wanted to tell her. Right then and there. I tried. I really tried. She seemed really insecure though. Like she didn't think I wanted to be around her. I sighed and headed inside the trailer.
"Where the hell were you?! You don't answer any of my calls or texts and you come back home at 12:00 AM?!"
"You never call me dad, don't act like you were being responsible."
He pushed me against the wall and held me by my shirt.
"I don't care what you what you assume I'm thinking, but I care about you. I care about where you are." He said between his gritted teeth.
"So answer the damn question. Where. Were. You."
I answered truthfully even though I really didn't want to."I was at the register, helping Betty with a story. You know what Alice said? That a Southside gang gave Jason Blossom drugs to sell in the Northside." I say in a curious tone.
"Don't tell me that you actually believe that Northside slut."
"I believe, that you are just trying to find yet another excuse to get out of consequences."
"You really want to play that game with me? Alright. No more seeing this Betty girl or her mother. No more writing for the register. And never EVER say Jason's name under this roof again, you hear me?!"
"You are as guilty as they come, dad."
I ripped his hands off my shirt and stormed to my room. Why couldn't I have a normal dad? How different would I have turned out if I had a dad that actually payed attention to me. I was staring at the wall, deep in my thoughts when there was a buzz on my counter.Archie: yo, did you hear?
Jughead: Hear What?
Archie: They caught Jason's killer.
My heart dropped. This can't be right. If they caught Jason's killer, why was he still talking to me?
Jughead: What?!
Archie: meet me in the library
Jughead: Be there in ten.
I grabbed my bag and ran for the library. I didn't care if my dad heard me. I sprinted through the halls and saw Kevin, Veronica, and Archie all sitting there, staring at either the floor or the wall.
"Hey guys?" I say.
"I'm sorry Jug," Archie said.
I was about to open my mouth when I saw Cheryl come out from one of the book shelves.
"Hi, again!" She said.
"You said you wouldn't tell anyone Cheryl!"
"Wrong, I said I wouldn't tell Betty."
"You Bitch!" I say, with tears in my eyes.
"Did you guys tell Betty?" I say while looking at the other three.
"Of course not!" Veronica said, standing up. "We know how much you like her."
"You know too?! What the hell Cheryl?!"
"Well maybe next time tell your dad to not shoot my brother!" She said while folding her arms.
It was hard to focus on one area because my eyes were filled with tears."I probably hate my dad as much as you do Cheryl, I hate even sharing his last name! You don't need to ruin my life because his is already ruined."
"Don't blame it all on your dad, your just as bad!"
"Cheryl, for real cool it!" Kevin yelled.
"Ok, ok, everyone calm down." Archie said. "Jug, I don't blame you for your dad's doings and neither do Veronica or Kevin. This stays between us. Whoever says one word to Betty or the sheriffs station will be completely dropped. Deal?"
