*Alexis POV*
It was almost noon as we'd set out to find the body of a dead kid named Ray Brower.
We continued riding in the back of the truck for only a few more minutes. Eventually Chris caught the sight of Gordie walking down the sidewalk carrying his things and wearing a Yankee cap.
"Right here's cool!" Chris called out to the man driving the truck.
The man stopped the truck, waiting for us to go. Chris jumped off the truck and landed on his feet, me jumping down with him shortly afterwards.
"Thanks a lot!" Chris thanked the man.
"Sure thing!" The man responded driving off.
"Gordo!" Chris called out.
"Hey man." Gordie said in a sad tone.
Chris slung his arm around Gordie's shoulders, pulling me in with them and putting his other arm around my shoulders too. We continued to walk down the sidewalk.
"What happened to you Alexis?" Gordie asked, looking at the bruise on my cheek.
"Oh, I fell on the way to meet Chris." I lied.
"Wanna see something?" Chris asked us.
"Sure what?" Gordie answered.
"Are you okay?" Chris asked Gordie.
"Yeah I'm fine." Gordie answered.
"Come on guys." Chris said patting Gordie and I on the back.
Chris jogged ahead of us, trying to look for something.
"You gotta see this." Chris said as we jogged around the corner.
"Come on man what is it?" Gordie asked eagerly.
Chris stopped once we were behind the Blue Point Diner. He looked around to see if anyone was around.
"Come on! What is it?" Gordie asked again.
Chris reached into his rolled up sleeping bag, pulling out a pistol. Gordie's face fell into shock as his eyes landed on the gun.
"You wanna be the lone ranger or the cisco kid?" Chris asked.
"Walkin' talkin' Jesus." Gordie said as he snatched the gun out of Chris' hands.
"Where'd you get that?" I asked in amazement.
"Hocked it from my old man's bureau. It's a .45." Chris answered.
"I can see that." Gordie said.
His arms were extended out as he held the gun out. Making a gunshot noise as he pretended to shoot it.
"You got shells for it?" Gordie asked.
"Yeah. I took all that was left in the box. My dad will think he used them himself shootin' at beer cans while he was drunk." Chris answered.
Gordie pretended to shoot the gun again.
"Is it loaded?" Gordie asked.
"Hell no! What do you think I am?" Chris answered.
Gordie cocked the gun and pulled the trigger. The gun went off, Gordie accidentally shooting a bullet into the side of a dumpster.
"JESUS!" The three of us yelled out in fear.
"Let's get outta here come on!" Gordie yelled running down the street.
I followed Gordie, running down the street right behind him.
