"So, Jimin– what have you been up to?" Seokjin asked, holding a piece of drumstick and dipping it into the mash potatoes.
"Uh— university? And I'm also working as a part time florist and I teach dancing classes with Hobi hyung and Jungkook sometimes, why?"
"It's just a quick catch-up session! Why are you asking me why! Hyung wants to know your life updates! I—" Jimin was quick to stuff a biscuit in the blonde's mouth, a huge grin on his face as Seokjin took a bite out of it.
"Then how about you, hyung? What have you been doing nowadays?" The raven asked, taking back his bitten biscuit and settling it down for now as he picked up a piece of tender.
"Well— nothing much. Online university and then I'm working with my dad because he wants me to take over the company."
Jimin howled in excitement, eyes wide, "woah! My hyung is gonna be a C-E-O!"
"Shut up, it's not that big of a deal, you already knew it was bound to happen."
The blonde reached for the mashed potatoes with greasy fingers, scooping out some and eating it, "you have a girlfriend?"
Laughing, Jimin shook his head, "I don't have time for that— but you, you obviously have one, right?" He paused to take a bite out of the fried chicken, "or are you too handsome that you actually intimidate people?"
Seokjin stayed quiet, munching on his biscuit which made the raven laugh again. During their college days, everyone was intimidated wherever the blonde walked, he had a cold gaze when he was alone by himself. His hyung was an introvert as well, so he didn't really talk much to other people he don't know, hence, the intimidation.
He was beautiful, yes, but he didn't really talk much or showed any emotion when he isn't with his group of friends.
"I'll take that as a yes, you haven't changed throughout the years, hyung."
"I might have changed, you wouldn't know." The blonde mumbled with chicken against his lips.
Rolling his eyes, Jimin scoffed, "we've been together since kids, how drastic can your change be? You still have the same quirks and personality on a surface level."
"Surface level." Seokjin repeated, raising a brow towards the male sitting opposite him.
"Then can you tell me what changed?"
Seokjin thought for a moment, trying to come up with things he used to do or love but dropped them. "My happiness." He thought, letting out a dry chuckle which made the raven curious.
"Truth to be told, I don't really know if I've changed. But I think I'm quite mature now."
The remark made Jimin snicker, smiling and nodding along, "sure."
"Are you testing me?"
"Nah. You're too mature for bickering, aren't you?" The raven teased.
"The audacity!" Seokjin raged, shaking a piece of tender to Jimin.
Laughing to the point he was choking, Jimin grabbed a bottle of water as he hit his chest, letting out violent coughs. The blonde was quick to flee to his side, rubbing his back with his elbow to avoid greasing up his shirt.
"You're digging into my back, hyung!" Jimin complained once he calmed down, trying to shake off the taller male behind him.
Seokjin fell forward, flopping ontop of the raven and giving the top of his head an accidental greasy kiss, "see?! Now you gotta take a shower!"
"Is this your way of telling me to stay?" The raven asked, slightly cringing at the thought of his oily hair thanks to his hyung.
"I mean— only if you're free. Don't you dare cancel out anything just so you can stay, be truthful with me."
Jimin thought for a while, pursing his lips. He's supposed to go to a dance class but he guesses Jungkook can do it by himself, besides, he has Hoseok to contact. "I'm fairly free."
"Don't lie to me."
"I'm not lying! It's just a dance class, but Jungkook's been skipping so it's his turn to take over for a few days, it's fine!" Jimin reassured the blonde, taking a biscuit and feeding his hyung before he could go off again.
"Fine— but if you get shit on, you tell me okay? I'll use my hyung card!"
"I'm his hyung too!" The raven argued, flinging chicken bones into the trash bag at the side. The bones flew short, dropping onto the floor and making the blonde tut.
"Hyung my ass. Jungkook knows respect and when to give them but when you do things like that—"
"—you did it earlier too! Don't think I didn't notice it cuz you were nearer to the bag! You did it when your arm could obviously reach the bag." Jimin fought back, standing up and cleaning the mess he made.
Seokjin rolled his eyes, "it's my home, I can do whatever I want."
"Sure."
The pair continued on with their dinner, eating till the containers were empty, the both of them leaning back and giving out a loud, heavy sigh. Seokjin let out a burp, "you can bathe first, Chim."
"No, I know how much you hate wet, humid bathrooms. You take it."
"But I'm still so full."
"Then how do you think I feel?!" Jimin retorted, the corners of his lips tugging into a smile. "Let's clear this up first, hyung."
Moving slowly, the pair cleared the table, dumping the boxes and containers into the plastic bags. The raven tied them up and proceeded to leave the house with slippers hastily worn, scuffling his way to the garbage chute. Seokjin on the other hand was wiping the coffee table down with a washed cloth, making sure no food residue was left before washing it again and hanging it on the kitchen window to let it dry.
The click of the front door made the blonde's head spin quick, almost giving him whiplash, "Jimin?"
"Relax hyung, most of your neighbors are harmless. It's either old couples or families with little children." Jimin reasoned, sitting back down on the sofa.
"You can never be too careful. So— wash up and then bed?"
"Sure." The raven replied, though he felt like something was missing. He suddenly perked up from
his seat, a lightbulb going off in his head. "The cake! Hyung, the cake!"Jimin went to the fridge and took the little box that was placed at a corner, closing the door with his hip and taking a piece of fork. He brought it to the blonde's room, setting it down on the desk.
"Hey, don't drop anything on the floor." Seokjin reminded. The raven stabbed the strawberry on top of the cake and brought it to his hyung's lips, the said male jutting his tongue out.
"Not this shit again, hyung. Open up." Jimin argued, pushing the strawberry against the taller male's lips.
Smiling, Seokjin ate half of the strawberry, leaving the other half for Jimin. "You reckon this strawberry came from my uncle's farm?"
"Could be, who knows?" The raven happily ate the other half, smiling.
"Hey Jimin. You really don't mind staying over for another day?" The blonde asked, taking the fork away from him and feeding the both of them.
"Well—" Jimin chewed carefully as his hyung gave him a huge chunk of cake— "I miss us living together, if we could do it again I would want to. It's not that lonely and I could get used to your meals again. My family is too far away for a good home-cooked meal."
"Hm, you sound like you don't wanna cook by yourself even if you're capable of doing it." Seokjin teased, bumping his shoulder with the shorter male.
"I cook!" Jimin fought. "It's just— not that enjoyable."
"Ah, you're still a big baby." The taller male remarked, his mouth covered by his hand as he talked.
"If I'm a baby, you're a toddler."
Seokjin shook his head, chuckling. They ate the remnants of the cake, Jimin making sure that the blonde got the last bite. With the dessert finished, Jimin brought the fork to the sink and washed it immediately after he disposed he box. The blonde was already in the bathroom, getting ready for their bedtime.
