I couldn't concentrate on class. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't shake off the feeling of... being watched. Like a ominous, heavy presence tingling a general direction from behind me.

I shook my head, and looked back up at Aizawa-sensei who was saying something, but I just couldn't register his monotone instructions. I felt jumpy and uncomfortable, hoping the feeling would go away.

The door of the classroom randomly slid open and Midnight waltzed in. I noted she wasn't holding her signature whip, and sighed a little in relief. That thing always made me nervous.

"I'll hand out white boards, and I'm sure Shota already told you what to do!" She smiled as she fished out a couple of miniature whiteboards.

After a while everyone had one and I clutched mine, completely clueless of what was going on. "You may discuss about it, in pairs only," Midnight said, before resting her arms on the little podium at the front of the class.

I immediately look up at Ida and Uraraka, but they both had teamed up already, and completely forgot about me. Ouch. I sighed and looked back at the empty whiteboard, really not sure of what needs to be done but I dared not ask the teachers, in case I was labelled as lazy and inattentive.

All around me, everyone was standing up and miling around, forming pairs all around only I stayed in my seat, and I didn't hear any chair scraping behind me either so I assumed Kacchan stayed put.

A hand rested on my shoulder and I squeaked in surprise, jolting in my seat. I looked up at the person, mildly shocked, and became even more bewildered to see...

Todoroki Shoto.

His mismatched turquoise and grey eyes were glinting slightly, but I couldn't tell the emotions in them. He pulled a chair from the table on my right, and sat down next to me. "Midoriya, mind if I'm your partner?"

Immediately a blush formed on my cheeks as I stuttered out a reply, but it couldn't be heard so I frantically nodded my head instead.

I've always had a crush on him, ever since he fought against me in the sports fiesta. I don't know what it is, but when he finally burst into flames, the wide smile of freedom that split his mouth apart, and when he declared he wanted to be a hero too, my heart thumped and his smile was contagious, infecting me despite my injuries during the fight.

"So, what's yours?" He lazily asked, pulling out his whiteboard and settling it on my table. He also uncapped his marker as it lingered right above the shiny board. "I don't really care for this, honestly."

"Uhm, actually, I don't know what's going on," I nervously stuttered, picking up the whiteboard and then smiling at Todoroki apologetically. "I was... distracted."

I couldn't tell if I was imagining it but his eyes widened the slightest bit for a split second, before going back to normal. He laid back in his chair, twirling the marker around in his hand. "Of all people, I didn't expect you to be distracted so easily." He raised an eyebrow slightly.

"Oh, haha, uhm," I scratched my neck, a slight blush tinting my cheeks. "I felt... weird, like I was being watched you know?"

He took the whiteboard off the table and looked at it for a moment, before his eyes darted up to mine and made my breath hitch. "Yeah, I guess. Anyway we're supposed to choose hero names or something."

"Oh!" I understood immediately and looked at my own blank whiteboard. A small smile made its way to my lips as I scribbled down "Deku".

"You're gonna use the name an asshole gave you?" Todoroki raised his eyebrow.
