Chapter 14

Third Person P.O.V.

It has been a long time since the loud and chaotic guild of Magnolia, popularly known as Fairytail, laughed or even cracked a smile. Everyday has been filled with sorrow, remorse and helplessness. Without the pink haired dragon slayer with his childish antics or the bubbly celestial maiden, the guild had been down and a gloomy aura seemed to always surround their once determined features.

An ice-make mage sat on one of the guild's table, together with a wind dragon slayer, the Titania, a solid script mage and an exceed. They had the most sullen face amongst all since they were closer with the two missing guild members.

"This is stupid....."Gray muttered under his breath as he scowled heavily at the table top as if wanting to burn a hole through it. The feared Erza Scarlet gave a subtle nod whilst picking at her strawberry cake with her fork which is odd since it was her favorite dessert.

"Lissana-san has been at the cabin all this time....She never left Lucy-san's room since we moved her there.."Wendy piped up. Even the young girl's voice seemed low and you could clearly see through her saddened expression how she felt about the situation. She couldn't even heal her friend, so what was her worth?

"Wendy....."Carla patted the bluenette's arm with her tiny paw as seeing the young mage in the verge of tears.

"Lu-chan will be okay, Wendy-chan. She wouldn't want you to blame yourself." Levy tried lifting up the mood with a small grin-which worked albeit a tiny bit.

"Love rival would want to get Gray-sama from Juvia so she won't guve up that easily..."Gray made a startled yelp as the water mage appeared at his side out of a blue which caused him to nearly topple backwards from his chair.

This scene made most of the guild to chuckle and grin.

"Minna! Who wants free beers?!" Mira yelled from the bar counter which earned a lot of "Hell yes!" and "Give me some!" from the crowd.

Little by little, the guild's spirits had been lifted....although there is still a part of them that would feel downcast, they try to shove the worries away even for a little while.

The Titania started eating her cake instead of ruining it, Wendy started giggling with Romeo, Gray stripped again, Juvia had hearts on her eyes as she stared at the uce-make mage, Levy was having a small argument with Gajeel, Cana finished a whole barrel of alcohol and Elfman was yelling "Man" at some random members. Laxus, Freed and Bixslow having a quite time in the corner and Evergreen with them.

But there was someone missing. (except Lucy and Natsu......and Happy)

An old man.

Oh, yes!

Fairytail's guild master-Makarov Dreyar.

Occupying one of the second floor rooms was the guild master;seemingly too lost in thoughts to grab a beer from the bar when Mira called like he used to.

On his aged face, plastered was worry and confusion. He was worried for the blonde mage and the dragon slayer. And was confused to why Lovino would attack their guild.

Heaving a breathy sigh, the master looked at the window beside his desk and paused the tapping of his fingers to let his fisted hand support his face as he propped his elbow on the desk.

"Lovino.....Lucy......Soul......Natsu......Women...."

He was serious at the first few words as he contemplated the situation but it turned lewd as he said "women". Images started fleeting on his head which the writer won't describe for she was trying to keep the story suitable for young minds, but would gladly make one if the readers would want her to.

"I need beer.."He muttered as he stood from his high chair carefully due to his unexplainable height.

Exiting the room, he half-expected the guild to look livelier than the past week. He grinned slightly at this and went over to Mira who was busy handing refills.

"Master! Beer?"The bartender asked with a cheerful smile. This made the short man grin and he nodded at the word of alcohol. "The guild is doing better, I see." He remarked as he sat on one of the bar's stool whilst eyeing his children.

"Hai...It's a good sight to see."Mira said and handed him a mug of his favorite beer.

"Arigato Mira..

Unbeknownst to the now lively guild, a member of their own had just arrived back from his solo mission.

He passed by the folks of Magnolia who were busy with their everyday lives. His blue exceed flying just beside him. His bandages were visible as were his scrapes and bruises which were slowly healing. Despite his condition, a small grin crept its way to his lips as he neared the gates of Fairytail.

His grin grew wider, his feet had stopped just infront of the doors. Raising a leg up, he kicked the doors open with a loud bang as it hit the walls. Some of the hinges flew, but he didn't give a single damn about it.

"Oi! What's this about? Partying without the great Salamander? " Mock hurt was plastered on the dragon slayer's face and he placed a hand on his heart to emphasize his drama.

Most of the guild members stood still-shock at the idiot's arrival.

A shout was heared and was followed by another and another. And the whole guild came running to Natsu and Happy, cheering and welcoming the two back.

"Good to see you flamebrain.."It was Gray's turn to speak with Natsu. The pinkette would have said something kinder but with the name Gray used, he changed his mind.

"Shut it Ice freak!" Though it was meant as an insult, his words lacked the usual venom he used durng one of their banters and Gray played with his tricks as well.

"Oh yeah? Bring it ash for brains!!"

"I'm all fired up Elsa understudy!!"

"Are you two fighting again?"

Both turned their hands to the sound of the Titania's cold voice and everyone froze in fear. Natsu and Gray cowered and linked their arms together. "W-were not....S-s-see?"Both said simultaneously.

Erza nodded and a small smile graced her lips. "Welcome back, Natsu..."

Natsu released Gray but not without sending him a scowl which the ice mage gladly returned. He turned to face the scarlet haired mage amd gave her his trademark toothy grin. "Arigato Erza!"

"Welcome back, Natsu-san!"

"Welcome home, Natsu-nii!!"

Tons had said their 'Welcome backs'. Master gave a short speech saying how proud he was of him. Another party was held in honor of Natsu's arrival. Everyone enjoyed the gathering. Their spirits suddenly lifted. They talked and laughed like normal.

Natsu was sitting with Gray, Erza, Wendy, Romeo, Levy, Gajeel, and the exceeds.

With a puzzling expression, Natsu turned to Erza who was busy eating her strawberry cake. "Ne, where's Lissana?"

Everyone froze.

Then Natsu added, "Where's Lucy?"

All looked down. How would they tell him?

"Natsu....Lucy is.."Erza started and Natsu's eyes grew wide in terror.

"W-what?"
