Chapter 14: Dariush!

"What?" Dariush said in disbelief.

"Oh." Gabriel said. Well Alex sure did kill the mood. Him and ZhenZhen switched places. She got the the engine started a put a cassette into the player. Straight Outta Compton started playing. The tires started squealing from the outside. ZhenZhen started spinning donuts. Before driving out of the car park and onto the road. We were all head banging in sync with the song.

"Hold on tight." ZhenZhen told us before drifting around the corner not even a minute later that creature or alien that we thought drowned. Ended up on the front of the car. The sound of metal crunching was terrifying. We all started screaming. It head-butted the windshield and successfully broke it. I felt Gabriel wrap his arms around me. It managed to break the glass, shattering it into pieces. We all screamed.

"It's on top of the roof!" Gabriel said. It's hand or whatever you want to call it came through the roof.

"Hang on!" ZhenZhen told us. The creature was trying to break this car and kill us. ZhenZhen drove through a gas station and the alien came off.

"Oh, shit, where's it at?" Gabriel asked. We looked out the back window.

"It's gone. Gimme some." Dariush said. Me, Gabriel, Max and him all made a group hug. ZhenZhen was celebrating in the front but it was too early. The creature smashed the glass at the back.

"Oh!" She shouted. Yet again it was trying to break into the car. I managed to get onto the floor of the car and sit there in a curled up ball. Needless to say we were all still screaming. ZhenZhen told us to jump out the car.

"Are you crazy?" Gabriel asked her. I sat back on the seat, put my bag on and jumped out of the car. "Jump!" Gabriel kept repeating. We all rolled down the road. I watched as the car came off the bridge, taking the creature with it.

"Way to go, ZhenZhen!" Alex shouted. I felt something running down my face. I wiped it away with my fingers and saw blood. I touched my face until I felt a little cut on my forehead. I opened my bag to get a tissue out and wiped as much blood as possible away.

"Is everyone okay?" Gabriel asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine I just have a minor injury." I told him.

"Yeah. I think so." ZhenZhen said. We all walked over to the edge and looked over.

"Guys. Guys! I don't have the key." Alex told us. My face dropped.

"What?" We all asked.

"It's probably in the car. We need that key." Alex told us all panicked.

"Ah!" Dariush said in anger. We all walked away from the edge.

"Damn it." Alex whispered. I walked over to Gabriel and side hugged him. I rested my head on his shoulder. I felt him wrap one of his arms around me and gently rub my back.

"Damn it. Damn it. Damn it." Dariush repeated before walking past us all.

"Where are you going?" Alex said stopping him.

"To get the key." Dariush told us finally contributing. We all walked towards him.

"No way we can kill that thing, it's just gonna reanimate." Gabriel explained to Dariush saying how bad of an idea it is.

"Yeah, but...but we need that key to finish this off." Dariush told us.

"If you go down there, there's a chance your not coming back here alive." Max told him.

"You're gonna die if you go down there." ZhenZhen told him.

"Their right, we'll go together." Alex told Dariush.

"If we all go then we're all putting our lives on the line. If a group goes there's more chance we'll be caught and possibly killed." I told Alex.

"Exactly. So all six of us can did? I thought you were supposed to be the smart one. It's my turn. Look man. Did you know I was named after the ancient king of Persia, Darius? Well, do you know who's Darius's greatest rival ever was, the only one to ever defeat him?" Dariush told Alex. Honestly something could happen at any minute, more people are possibly dying and we're all just standing around waiting to get this key.

"Alexander the Great." Alex answered.

"Yeah. Yeah, I knew you'd know that. Well look. This time Dariush gets to be the hero." Dariush told him. He had his hand on Alex's shoulder. Alex pulled Dariush into a hug.

"Good luck." Alex told him. We all watched as Dariush walked away. We all watched Dariush go by the car and search for the key. He got inside of the car but I couldn't watch what was happening so I turned around and bury my head in Gabriel's chest.

"Why is this like an episode of Love Island?" I questioned. This was like when you see someone grafting with the person you like and your hurt by it so you decide not to watch, except from your watching your friend possibly be killed.

"You had to bring that show up didn't you?" Max asked rhetorically.

"Yes I did and I'm missing a bunch of episodes so I don't know about the love triangle with Tommy, Lucie and Joe." I told him.

"We have no idea what your taking about." Alex told me.

"It's the best show ever. It's like a reality tv show with a bunch of single people who find love in a nice villa in Spain." I said remembering that show gave me a bit of hope.

"So kinda like our situation but we're trying to save the world. So it's like one of the challenges and some of us have coupled up and then there's me and Dariush who are like the new guys in the villa." Max tried explaining to us.

"What the hell do you mean?" I ask him. His imagination was running again.

"I mean we all met each other while we were single. And then there's the 2 couples. You and Gabriel, ZhenZhen and Alex." He said with a sigh. I turned around in Gabriel's grasp so I could see what was happening.

"You've kinda ruined the show for me now." I told Max while laughing.

"And we still don't have any idea what your talking about." Alex told me.

"When this things over I'm inviting everyone over and we're binge watching every single episode of season 5." I told them. I could hear them all groan. "It's not that bad." I said to them while laughing. We all went silent and watched what was happening.

"Come on." ZhenZhen said in anticipation. I heard the radio start playing and I jumped.

"Fucking hell." I whisper shouted. I let out a nervous laugh.

"I got it." Dariush called up to us. We all started celebrating. I kissed Gabriel on the cheek and he kissed me on my forehead. I ruffled Max's hair and he took my hair out of the bun I had put it in. I messed with my hair  a bit and flattened it out. "I got the key." He shouted at us again. We saw that creature stirring from it slumber.

"Hey, behind you!" We all shouted. We were pointing behind him but he didn't understand.

"What!" He shouted at us confused. "I got it." He said confusedly.

"No!" Alex shouted.

"Dariush, behind you!" We all shouted at him. He never understood what we saying. He got scratched by the creature, I couldn't see it properly from where we were stood but I could tell it was deep.

"Dariush!" Max yelled to his new friend. We watched as he crawled into the car. Honestly there would be nothing I could do. I don't have a first aid kit on my so we have nothing.
