Khalil
"Man I was where she told me to be. Covering the exit. Look if I would've known I-"
"If you would have known? Negroes always fixing their thick lips with excuses. You should've have known, period." Tobias sighed. "Move."
I moved my piece and looked at him.
"You said you knew how to play."
"I do. I just took your knight." I told him.
He chuckled and moved his piece. I chuckled back, it was now my turn. He chuckled at me again.
"Listen carefully." He said. He smacked me. I moved a dread or two out of my face as he moved another piece.
"Check." Tobias said, grinning at me. "Actions have consequences you have to anticipate." And with that, he walked out of the room.
I mumbled underneath my breath as I stood out of my chair. I sent a quick text before walking out.

I looked down at my vibrating phone.
Khalil: can we talk?
"Jen." Keisha said snapping me out of my trans.
"Hm?" I asked.
"Girl. What is goin in wit you?"
"Umm. Nothing, how about we watch a movie?" I suggested.
"Mmm. Nope. Girl, you better tell me what's going on." Keisha demanded.
