I couldn't stand to see Jennifer upset like this but I had to do what was best, for all of us.
"Khalil. You cannot he serious right now. Please say that this is a joke." She started shook her head.
I couldn't get the words to come out. She stood up and walked away from the bed, covering her face with her hands.
"Jennifer. I'm sorry. I really am sorry-"
"Then don't leave me!"
"Stop making me feel like I'm the bad guy! You were the one who needed a break. The one who ghosted me for.... I don't even know how long!"
"Khalil, you know I love you! Me needing a break is way different then you leaving-"
"Get out." I say.
"What?" I can hear the hurt in her voice.
"I said get out!"
"FINE. BYE KHALIL." She grabs her bag and sweatshirt before walking out.
