D A H L I A"Lia, wait up! Where are you going?" Nathan says, panting heavily. Yeah, I made him run after me. it's fun being evil.
After I suddenly stop walking, I feel Nathan's tones body collide with my back. He probably didn't think I'd stop so suddenly.
"Your body is a rock, sheesh." I mumble and I can practically feel him smiling at my comment.
No. no. no. do not turn around, lia. he is not going to use his cute dimples against me. not today.
I turn to walk away again before he grabs my wrist, turning me towards him in the process. I love it when he does that. It makes me feel kind of hot inside.
"I'm so sorry about what I did yesterday. I was just," he pauses, mid sentence, before he says, "Never mind. I just hope you can forgive me because I miss you."
"Never mind what, Nate? Tell me what's on your mind right now or I'm walking away." I say.
He abruptly lets go of my wrist. "Forget about it. Please." He runs his hands through his hair, perhaps out of frustration? I don't really know, and right now, I don't care.
"No. I'm not going to. Whatever is bugging you is obviously giving you a hard time, considering you just blew off on me yesterday. What happened to being friends who trusted each other, hmm? What's wrong with you?"
He opens his mouth to talk, but I hold my hand up as a signal to tell him I'm not done. I continue, "Okay, fine, even if I was talking to Richard, what's it to you? If I want to kiss him, I will. You know why? Because it's my life! Not yours. You're acting like a jealous boyfriend or something, and jealousy doesn't suit you, Nathan."
And with that, I walk away.
I don't think I like him anymore.
***
Of course I like him. Yes, I like Nathan. He makes me happy and giddy and all I want is him. His actions probably could mean he feels the same way but I'm way past denying how I feel about him anymore.
However, it's not like any of it matters. He keeps acting like I owe him all my time and it's getting pretty annoying. Sighing, I throw the textbook I'm supposed to be reading across my bed in frustration. I'm so tired of everything.
My phone rings and I check the caller ID to see that it's Kiara. I pick up in less than a second, because I really miss my best friend. It probably sounds stupid, but I really miss her. "Look at your window." is the first thing I hear once I place my phone over my ear.
I follow the instruction and see Kiara waving at me with that big, lopsided smile of hers that could make you melt in a second. What is she doing here?
I cut the call and place my phone on my bed and walk over to my window to open it. Kiara holds onto me for support as she jumps in my room from the white ladder she was standing on.
Once she enters, I close my window and turn on my air conditioning. I see Kiara smile slowly.
There's one thing we always do when we visit each other's rooms. We always, and I mean always, switch on the air conditioning. Kiara says that 'it cools down the hotness of the tea that will eventually be spilled in our gossip sessions.'
