Her eyes opened slowly as she looked around the room. Her body ached as she sat up on the bed seeing that she was alone. Tig must have left sometime last night after she fell asleep. Regret filled her like no other and she pulled the blankets up over her chest more. The slick between her legs made her want to cry.
She hasn't actually wanted to fuck Tig last night it was more of an emotional attachment. She loved the man and she was trying to do right by Chibs, but it just wasn't working out in her favor. She kept herself from crying as she rose from the bed and collecting her clothes.
She needed a shower.
After she was cleaned up she headed down stairs right as soon as the backdoor opened.
"Clara!"
Chibs yelled out causing her to stop. He came into the dining room and seen her standing there. His eyes wide as he looked over her face. She looked away from him as he slowly approached her. His hands came to his hips as he took a step backward and a quivering sigh escaped his lips.
Then he did the unthinkable and he yelled punching the wall beside him making Clara jump and yelp.
"Clay did this then?"
He asked as if already knowing the answer somehow. She nodded her head quickly scared of Chibs right now and he seemed to notice. Shaking his head he walked forward and slowly embraced her as he sniffled.
"Tiggy told me he patched you up and dropped you off here last night. Said it's the reason you'd been avoiding me. Ya didn't want me ta see ya like this?"
Her hands came up and wrapped around his back as she clung to him for dear life. It was true, she didn't want Chibs to see her like this. But yet here he was.
"I'm sorry."
She whispered feeling Chibs kissing the aide of her head. She gave a rugged sigh as she tried to keep from crying. Her face wasn't as swollen or purple as it had been. It was more of a yellow and some black under her eyes where Clay had punched the shit outta her.
"I'm sorry."
She cried. Chibs kept her close to him. He held her close. She was crying and apologying over something that wasn't her fault at all.
"Darlin you got nothing to be sorry fer."
He assured her.
The day dragged on slowly. Chibs had taken her back to his place where she found rest away from everything. He would have staid there with her, but he had things he had to do by what he said. She understood. Maybe being away from everyone would do her some good. Giving her a chance to clear her mind.
She had agreed to have a child by Chibs if it meant that she would be freed from the hold on her mother and uncle. But after last night she wasn't so sure about it anymore.
Alone in his home, Clara placed her head in her hands while she sat on the couch. Her mind getting the better of her and her regrets of last night. What if it happened again? What if she got pregnant after her and Tig's little roll about in the sheets?
Could she really put Chibs through another miscarriage situation just to hide the truth?
Taking a deep breath she tried to call her wild mind. It wouldn't happen. Not again. The chances that she would get pregnant and wind up in that situation where she was unsure after just one time with Tig, she was so sure it wouldn't happen.
Even though her mind screamed all it takes is one time.
Shoving the idea in the back of her brain Clara rised up from the couch. Wincing from the slight pain that shot through her stiff body, still sore from Clay, she managed to make her way back to the bedroom where she found she would take the rest of the day to laying in bed and trying to catch up on an apparent much needed rest.
A few days later Clara found herself in a situation that she couldn't have ever imagined.
Waking up she found Jackson at the front door. He seemed upset beyond compare. Chibs was in the shower when he arrived and it was the first time he had seen Clara after he found out that Clay had beaten Gemma and her.
"Jax?"
She greeted not sure how to act. Her face had healed over slowly, but her memories of the attack wouldn't ever fade from her mind.
"Hey kiddo."
He greeted walking inside and embracing her. She sighed leaning into his touch. Having believed she was over the whole crying aspect of the events that took place it turned out she was wrong.
A few stray tears came slipping from her eyes falling onto his kutte. Holding her cousin close she exhaled a shaken breath before pulling away.
"What are you doing here? Is everything okay?"
"I came here to let you know things with Clay have been handled. He won't hurt you anymore."
Tensing up Clara looked at Jax worried.
"He's alive."
She released a breath she didn't know she had been holding. Jax had read her face and knee what she thought when he said that. It was only once her eyes caught the words out of the corner of her eye did she see that Jax was wearing the presidents patch.
"Jackson? You?"
She didn't know what to say. Seeing her cousin wearing that had her so focused that she didn't hear Chibs leaving the shower.
"Lovey?"
Spinning around Chibs stood there in nothing but a towel. His hair slicked back looking at the both of them.
"I guess you have been busy huh?"
The softeners in her words caused Chibs to nod. There was so much he hasn't told her that had been happening in the last few days due to her attack. He didn't want to put her under anymore stress what with them trying for a child together.
"I've been meanin ta tell ya. Jus didn't know when tha right time was."
"It's okay. I understand."
She replied looking back at Jax, who wore a small smile of approvement for the couple. Returning the smile Clara sighed.
"Beer Jackson?"
"Sure, I'll take one."
He replied his smile getting just a tad bit bigger. Nodding Clara turned around and walked past Chibs, giving him a kiss on the lips, before disappearing into the kitchen for her cousin's beer.
