"Mousier, I need more light, I might go blind if you don't lend me another lamp, it shouldn't be this dark during the day!"
Claudia was getting a dress made by a tailor lady. I heard her complaining to Lestat about the dim light in the room. After Lestat just left her, she pricked her finger.
"Let me kiss it better," Claudia said.
I read her mind, she was gonna feed on her! I walked in and it was too late! All of us walked in.
"Claudia, what have we told you!"
Lestat walked to her and smacked her hand.
"Remember never in the home!"
Claudia was slowly turning spoiled, she even stole a doll!
One night, I heard footsteps, I cautiously got out of my coffin and checked. It was Claudia. She was headed towards Louis' coffin. I followed her, his coffin was open, he was holding the lid up. It was like he was waiting for her. She has found a favorite, Louis...No I'm not jealous at all.
She learned to play piano by a tutor. Me and Lestat were watching her as she was being taught. But, the tutor died suddenly. We walked to her.
"What have I told you?" Lestat asked sternly.
"Never in the house."
He got the body out of the way and continued the lessons.
"Lynessa, come play with us."
Lestat smiled. I sat on the left side of her, Lestat was on the right.
"Claudia, if you are going to learn more about us, you're going to have to learn from Lynessa, she is the oldest vampire out of all of us. She has lived through the times of yore, kings and peasants."
Claudia smiled really big, showing her fangs.
We were in the cobblestone streets of the town we've been living in.
"I remember sitting down with Mr. Shakespeare for tea, he told me I was the inspiration for the likeness of the female lover in his then-current play he was writing called Romeo and Juliet."
Lestat smiled.
"Then I owe you big time Lynessa, I love that story, it's the reason I'm a romantic."
Claudia stopped to see a naked woman bathing in the window singing in French.
"Like what you see?" Lestat asked.
"She shouldn't have her window open for the whole world to see!" I said.
"She's so pretty," Claudia said.
"Yes she is."
"But what she's doing is bloody disgusting!" I said.
"I wanna be her."
"But pretty soon she's gonna grow old and die. That's the saddest part of being human," Lestat said.
"But you Claudia, you are a vampire, you will never grow old and die, you stay a child forever."
"But I don't wanna stay a child forever!" Claudia whined.
"Oh Claudia, you whiney little girl, oh mon dieu, you're becoming more like Louis everyday, soon you'll be eating rats!" Lestat said as he walked away.
"Rats, when did you eat rats Louis?"
Louis bent down in front of her.
"It was a long long time ago, before you were born."
He made a slurping noise, she smiled.
"And I don't recommend them."
"Me either, 'it's only good for when you're stuck for a month on a ship at sea,' Lestat said and I quote," I said.
At the house, I was about to go to sleep in my coffin when Claudia walked in.
"Claudia love, why aren't you in your coffin?"
"I wanna sleep in yours with you Lynessa."
"You've been sleeping in Louis' for while now, you know you do have your own."
"I know, I love Louis very much."
"Yes we're your parents. Having three parents is a bit of a stretch."
She giggled, I motioned for her to come to me. I laid down in my coffin, she laid beside of me.
"Lynessa, how did you become a vampire?"
"It was over a thousand years ago, indeed I am older than Louis and Lestat, I am forever seventeen, still a child myself. I did something wrong but it was worth it."
"What did you do?"
"I stole a knight's bag of tax pounds, the taxes were unfair. He was napping at his post, I snatched it and spent it on the ring I'm wearing now, I wanted something luxurious for once! I was a peasant."
I lifted my right hand up for her to see.
