Three decades passed by since we took in Claudia as our daughter. I saw Lestat walking to Claudia's room with a doll. I followed him. We saw her humming to herself plying with her hair. Lestat sat by her, pretended the doll gave her a kiss on the cheek.

"Another doll? I have dozens you realize."

"I thought you could use one more."

"I think she's becoming a doll hoarder Lestat," I said smiling.

"What's a hoarder?" Claudia asked.

"A person who storage things as an addiction."

"I'm not a hoarder! Lestat, why do you give me a doll on the same night of the year, is it my birthday?"

"Well not exactly, you've been in our lives for thirty years. How we show we love you," I said.

"Well Claudia, you do have too many dolls. You should throw them away."

"I will then!"

She started throwing her dolls behind her to the floor, after most of the dolls were removed, there was a corpse. A corpse! Louis ran in.

"Claudia!"

Lestat forcefully turned her around.

"Claudia, what have you done!?"

"What you told me to do!"

"Leave a corpse here to rot?" Louis asked.

"No, I wanted her, I wanted to be her!"

We followed Claudia to the living area, she picked up a pair of scissors.

"Claudia don't," Louis said.

"Why not, can't I change like everybody else!?"

She started cutting her hair until it was short curls.

"Claudia, why cut your beautiful hair!?" I asked.

She ignored me as she walked back to her room. After a few seconds, I heard her screaming. Me and Louis ran to see her. Her hair was back to the way it was. She walked back out.

"Which one of you did it!? One of you did it! Which one of you made me the way I am!?"

"What you are...an immortal child, you never grow old or get sick," Lestat said.

"And if I cut my hair again?"

"It will grow back again!"

"Why can't we change! I had a mother once and Louis, he had a wife! He was mortal the same as she and so was I, and Lynessa was mortal in the days of squires and jesters!"

"Claudia," Louis tried to get her attention.

"You made us what we are didn't you!?"

"Claudia," I said.

"Did you do it to me!?"

She cut both his cheeks with the scissors but it quickly healed.

"How did you do it? Please, tell me how it was done?"

Lestat stood up and grabbed her by the neck.

"A vampire doesn't tell his or her own secrets but if you keep your act up, you'll end up like that damned corpse, now get rid of it!"

He let go.

"You get rid of it."

She walked away.
