Concealed Demons | A Bellarke Story: Book 2

3. Insects

Everyone stayed up pretty late talking at night. Clarke had put Lexa to bed earlier though.

Soon, the insects started going crazy. It started with one bug that we caught earlier. It tried to break out of the plastic container we put it in, but soon a swarm of them came to attack everyone.

"RUN!" Octavia yelled.

Everyone started sprinting. Clarke was a little slower, but she managed to keep up. Bellamy had picked Lexa up and was running with her in his arms. Her little legs weren't able to run that fast.

"John!" Emori cried.

"Emori!" Murphy called back while taking a chance to look back. Emori was nowhere to be found.

The insects were everywhere and they bit everyone's arms and legs.

"Cover your faces!" Bellamy exclaimed as he raised his mask over his face. Everyone else did the same covering the skin on their faces leaving their eyes to see.

"Murphy! Take the flare from my bag!" Jackson said. Murphy was frantically looking around for Emori.

He grabbed the flare from the bag and lit it. The flames seemed to scare the insects a bit, and it helped him to see in the dark.

"It worked! They are afraid of the fire!"

"Light the rest of the flares!" Madi commanded. She got the flares from the bag and tossed them to Octavia to pass around.

John heard Emori and ran after her. She had fallen while running, so everyone helped her up and the continued. They followed Shaw, who had a tracking device.

"Over here!" He yelled as he ran forwards.

Shaw was hit. He screamed in agony as he was shocked by the lightning.

Lexa got scared from the sound of Shaw being electricuted Bellamy had been carrying her. Lexa jumped out of Bellamy's arms and ran towards him.

"SHAW!" Raven reached out towards him as Echo held her back.

Bellamy ran toward to grab her.

"LEXA NO!" Clarke cried.

Lexa entered the edge of the force field. Clarke stood outside, her fists were closed. Her nails dug into her skin so hard there was some blood.

Surprisingly, Lexa was fine. The force field was a radiation field. Lexa was a nightblood, so she was able to withstand the radiation.

Madi realized what was going on, so she ran in and saved her sister.

"But, Mr. Shaw!" Lexa said as Madi gave her back to her dad.

Shaw was almost dead. Someone had to do soemthing.

Clarke ran towards Shaw, but Bellamy had grabbed her arm, jerking her backwards. It took her a couple seconds to regain her balance.

"The baby." Bellamy told her. Clarke didn't know if the radiation would affect her child.

"I'll go!" Madi volunteered. The insects were slowly getting closer as the flares died out.

"I've got three more flares!" Murphy informed as he lit another to ward off the insects.

Madi ran into the force field. She ran past Shaw as he cried.

"I need a code!" She cried.

Shaw said something that the rest of the group couldn't hear, but Madi had heard it. It was the code to deactivate the force field. Thankfully, Shaw had known the code.

Everyone quickly ran inside the force field before Madi turned it back on. All the bugs dropped dead to the ground.

Shaw lay on the ground in pain.

"No, no, no." Raven muttered, running over to her boyfriend. "Abby do something!"

"I'm sorry, Raven. There's nothing I can do that will save him." The doctor replied.

Raven buried her face in Shaw's body as she cried. Bellamy paced back and forth. He sighed. Clarke turned from staring at Raven and Shaw, walking over to Bellamy.

"It's not your fault." Clarke said. She put a hand on Bellamy's shoulder.

Loud footsteps filled the silence. Clarke turned around. Raven glared angrily as she walked over to the couple. Her anger lead her to blame everyone.

"You could have prevented this. YOU COULD HAVE SAVED HIM." She screamed. Emori came over and held Raven down before she could hurt Clarke.

"Raven, you need to calm down-" Bellamy started.

"NO! You don't get to speak! You were the one who stopped her! She could've saved him in time."

"Raven! You are way out of line here. She. Is. Pregnant." Echo said, surprising everyone.

Raven stared at Echo.

"Your on their side too? Shouldn't you be off somewhere wallowing about how Clarke stole Bellamy away from you?" Raven questioned. "Whatever. You should be ashamed of yourselves." She turned away and stormed off.

"Where are you go- Nevermind." Murphy said.

Clarke sighed. Bellamy rubbed her back.

"It's not your fault."

"I-I....know. It's just when she says that, it makes me think of everything I had done to get us here."

"Hey." Bellamy pushed Clarke's chin up, forcing her to look at him. "Nothing you did is on you. There were impossible choices to be made."

Clarke stood on her toes and kissed him. She stood back down and they locked into a loving embrace.

Everyone else looked around.

"Break it, lovebirds! Ugh!" Murphy had a disgusted look on his face.

"Alright everyone! We are going to split up!" Octavia ordered. She continued explaining what the plan was.

The group was split into two. In the first one Clarke, Bellamy, Shaw, Murphy, Echo, Emori, Jackson, Lexa and Miller. Madi stayed in the other group with Octavia. She had been learning the ways of being a commander with Gaia. Everyone else had gone with Madi.

Clarke walked over with everyone else, to say their goodbyes.

Clarke stroked Madi's hair.

"Hey, be careful out there. Octavia will protect you."

"I can protect myself Clarke. We will be fine."

"I know. I just want you to be safe." Clarke wrapped her arms around her adopted daughter.

"I will be safe." The two let go of each other. Clarke kissed Madi on the forehead and they parted ways.

Bellamy picked her backpack off the ground and threw it over her shoulder. Bellamy held Lexa's hand and walked with her.

Soon, Bellamy's group stumbled upon an area. Madi's group went the opposite direction. The place looked like a village, except there was nobody there. The whole area was empty, not a sound to be heard.

I've been trying to write some of my own storyline into the tv show, so that it's more interesting.
