Why Don't We Imagines

tears streamed down y/n face as she saw the sights in front of her. she wanted to look away, but it was hard, as the paramedics passed by her with an unresponsive daniel leaving the crashed cars behind.

it didn't seem right in her heart, daniel had barely texted her saying that he was on his way back home after spending time with the boys.

"y/n they are taking him to, st. mary's hospital," jonah said as he placed a hand on her shoulder, "we can take you there, we don't want you driving in this state that you're in." y/n nodded her head as she followed jonah to his car.

the entire way there was spent in silence. y/n didn't know what to say, neither did jonah. he could barely imagine the pain that she was going through at that moment.

as they arrived y/n immediately ran out of the car and into the hospital, more tears streaming down her face.

"what room is daniel seavey in?" y/n asked as the nurse looked at her, she immediately saw the pain that bestowed in y/n eyes. "i'm his girlfriend."

"he's on the third floor, room 29," she said as y/n thanked her as she ran to him. to her lover that was more then likely laying unconscious.

as she arrived to the room she saw him there laying so lifeless, tearing her heart into a million pieces. walking in there was tough. she really couldn't believe that in little hours daniel could be in the hospital fighting for his life.

"oh daniel," she said as she walked to the bed grabbing his hand, "i'm going to be by your side until you wake up. please don't stop fighting for you life."

"oh hello miss," y/n heard a voice say as she looked up to see a doctor. "i assume you're his girlfriend?" he asked as y/n nodded her head.

"is he going to be okay?" y/n question as the doctor stood on the other side of daniel. she prepared herself for the worst news.

"well, it's hard to say. he'll need surgery, but we don't know when he'll wake up or if he'll ever wake up. we are keeping our eyes closely on him. this was a terrible accident, but we have hope for everything to be fine," the doctor said, "if he does wake up though, there is a 79% chance that he will not remember anything at all."

y/n heart dropped, there might be a chance of daniel not remembering her and all their memories together. that hurting her deeply.

"if there anything that i can do?" y/n closed her eyes as she waited for an answer.

"just be there for him."

- one week later -

y/n rarely left daniels side. she really had no reason to leave him, other then go home and shower and change or to eat something. other then that she'd be there holding daniels hand and remembering every memory of them together.

his parents flew out to see him to, they spent quite a time there before they had to fly back, but y/n always kept them updated whenever anything new came up.

the boys, they came everyday. to be there for both y/n and daniel.

"y/n how are you feeling?" zach asked as he sat next to her putting his hand on her shoulder.

"i don't know," she started, "scared i guess. there is a 21% chance that he will even remember me, that if he wakes up." a tear slipped out of her eye as she said  as she remembered the slim chances.

"y/n he will remember you! he was too," jonah chimed in as he looked at her, "he will wake up, he will."

"but how can we be so sure?" y/n asked as the boys looked at her, they began seeing the pain in her eyes all over again.

the boys didn't know how to reply. they wanted to give her hope that everything will be okay, but they weren't sure if it would be. they didn't know what could happen at all with daniel.

"y/n he's a fighter, and as long as you're here he'll be fighting," jack finally said after long moments of silence. "as long as we don't give up on him, he won't either."

- hours later -

the boys had all left to get some food. while y/n stayed there. though they all begged her to come she didn't want to leave daniel all by himself just in case he woke up.

"we are on our way back, we should be there in 10," corbyn said through the phone, "see you then y/n."

"see you then corbyn." y/n said as she ended the call. she was truly lucky to have the boys there to support daniel and herself in this time. she couldn't thank them enough for all they do for her.

after time passed the boys were there eating and talking about memories that they had of daniel, causing them all to laugh.

"oh do you remember when daniel first met y/n?" jonah asked causing the boys to laugh.

"like it was yesterday! it was the first time ever that we've ever saw daniel love struck," zach started as he laughed, "he was tripping over his words, truly memorized by your beauty!"

"he never thought that he'd get a girl like you. but when he achieved in getting your number, he never stop talking about it!" jack said, causing you to smile. you never knew any of this until this very moment.

"then the day they started dating, he was the happiest he could have ever be. smiled everyday after that!" corbyn added in making y/n blush.

"you truly bring the good out of him, making him a better person every day," jonah stated as everyone quiet down a bit.

"it's true," daniels faint voice rang through everyone's ears, "i couldn't be happier to have a girl like you in my life y/n."

"oh my, daniel!" y/n voiced cried as she stood up and looked at daniel who was already looking at her. tears slipped from her eyes as daniel grabbed her hand pulling her closer to him.

"don't cry babygirl," daniel said as y/n's free hand wiped her tears away.

"you don't know how happy i am to see that you are okay! daniel, i love you," y/n said as the boys left the room, knowing that they were going to want to be alone for a bit.

"i love you, y/n. thank you for not giving up on me through this whole thing," daniel said as he kissed her hand, "i know it has been tough for you, hell for everyone, and i'm sorry for putting you through that."

y/n shook her head at daniel, "no daniel it's not your fault so don't apologize for it, now i'm going to get the boys inside because i know they want to see and talk to you!" y/n said as she got the boys that were waiting in the hall for the both of them.

"we missed you," jonah said as they all entered the room with huge smiles on their faces to finally see their best friend okay and alive, "we had to postpone the tour, but the fans understand completely."

"god, i'm so sorry guys," daniel sadly said as he knew that that was hard to completely postpone a whole tour for a while until he was fully recovered from this accident.

"daniel it's okay it's not your fault, things just happen and we can't control them. you just have to move past this one step at a time." jack replied giving daniel a small smile.

after talking for a bit the doctor was called in and talked to daniel privately about his conditions what he needed and mostly like how long recovery would be. but y/n stood by his side through the entire thing. which daniel was forever thankful for.

after a long two years daniel was finally better again. it was a terrible incident but daniel was thankful he was grateful for his life even more and was lucky that he survived.
