RWBY and APRJ: volume 4

Chapter 12: no safe haven

Destruction. That is all there was. Destruction and conflict between RNJR and the Horse Grimm. Everyone fell on their backs rather harshly, but Ren managed to land perfectly, staring down the Grimm with pure hate. The rider of the horse looked to be dead, but it soon got back up into its sitting position and made a huge deafening screech. Jaune saw that Qrow was vulnerable and quickly made his way over to him. The Grimm tried to kill Jaune, but he managed to jump over the attack and lift Qrow over his shoulder. Jaune panicked as the Grimm charged for him. Ren quickly used his semblance to strip Jaune and Qrow of their colour, making the Grimm confused. Without any negativity, it could not sense them.

"Get him to safety!" Ren ordered, catching the Grimm's attention. Jaune quickly carried Qrow to safety as their colour soon started to come back. Jaune set Qrow down behind a nearby building to shield him from the action. He was about to leave, until Qrow held his arm, stopping him from walking. Qrow soon sighed and let go of Jaune, knowing that he had to fight. Jaune made a serious face and ran towards his team, who were having trouble defeating the Grimm. The rider had extendable arms, allowing it to harm Ruby and Nora, but Ren was still up. The rider then had its arms on Ren.

"Guys! Keep moving! Go in a circle!" Jaune shouted. Ren thought that he was about to lose, until Nora had her grenade launcher out with her. Everyone endlessly shot at the rider, allowing Jaune to slash at the horse's leg. However, the horse bucked Jaune away, making him roll across the ground. Jaune saw that he needed more power, before deciding to crank it up a notch.

"What are you doing?!" Ruby asked, thinking that Jaune was holstering his sword. Instead, the holster made Jaune's sword become even more powerful and turn into a two-handed weapon. Jaune then attacked the horse again, this time, dealing some immense damage as it squealed in pain. The rider stopped moving the horse as its limbs started to crack. The spine extended and it screeched the loudest it could possibly do. Ren saw that their situation could be going a lot better. Running to a tree, Ren climbed up and shot at the Grimm, who managed to grab him with its extendable arm and pin him to a wall. Nora saw that Ren was in trouble and turned to Ruby.

"Ruby!" She shouted, making Ruby and nod and spin Crescent Rose around, before launching Nora at Ren, who was about to be crushed with the other arm. Ren braced for the impact, but it never came. Ren took his arms away from his face, finding Nora, hanging from her hammer. The Grimm was holding Nora by her hammer rather than finishing Ren off. Since she was higher than Ren, she knew that he could see up her skirt from the distance he was at. "Stop looking!"

The Grimm looked to be having enough of the playtime and slammed Nora all over the concrete, depleting her aura. Ren saw the damage that had been done and felt something different. He endlessly stabbed and slashed the Grimm's hand as Jaune sent another slash at the horse's leg. It managed to give Ren enough time to get himself free and try to attack the Grimm. Jaune saw that Ren was going absolutely berserk at the Grimm, no matter how many times he failed.

"Ren, knock it off!" But Ren ignored Jaune and endlessly tried to hurt the Grimm. But alas, he was caught by its arm and slammed across the ground too. He was then thrown next to Nora as his aura soon left his body. The Grimm got ready to charge at Ren and Nora, but Nora tackled Ren and sent them both under a building as Jaune and Ruby tried their best to fend it off. Ren was about to go back outside, but Nora held his arm.

"Nora, let go!" Ren demanded. "Nora, if you don't let go, we won't-"

Ren was interrupted when Nora backhanded him across the face. The force was just enough for an audible SLAP! to be heard. Ren stopped what he was doing and turned to Nora, who was looking down.

"No" Nora replied. "I won't let you kill yourself like this. After everything we've been through, I won't let it end"

Ren looked back up at Nora after being in thought. But what surprised him, was that he saw Nora when she was young. Tears in her eyes, just like how she was now when Ren blinked, seeing Nora as a teenager again.
