Legend Of Korra one shot

LoK one shot~

Yeah, I know book 4 is out and the writers and watchers {eventually} know what happened after book 3, but I just wanted to write this.

Sun glistening into the room, Korra struggles to sit up, stretches and looks around the room. She smiles as Naga comes to greet her, licking her face. She gently strokes her head and looks out the window. Air benders flying around for practice. With aid of Naga, she stood and walked to the window, she saw Tenzin teaching some air benders meditation, and his kids flying around with Kai and Bumi.

"Hi Korra!" Meelo greeted from outside, she smiled waved weakly and turned back to sit on the bed. Naga nuzzled her side as they shared a little peace.

{Outside Korra's door}

Asami walked towards Korra's room meeting eyes with Mako, who seems to be going to the same place. He looks up from rubbing his hands then awkwardly looks back down. Asami smiles warmly and meets him at the door,

"Are you going in?" She whispers. They lean against the door frame, hearing Naga whimper inside.

"Well-I- I um," he stutters, she puts her hands on his,

"Mako, it's okay," she smiles, inside she breaks a little.

"But what about you?" He looks at her, right in the eye.

"Korra needs you,"

"I can hear you," Korra says through the door. Fixing his scarf, Asami and Mako enter the room. Korra's back is to the door, Naga shares a glance with Mako as she bounds up to greet him ; Causing Korra to turn and smile. Naga then returns to Korra's side followed by Asami and Mako.

"How are you feeling?" Asami asks, sitting down beside her. She puts an arm around the Avatar, who manages to hug her back. They pull away,

"Okay, I'm okay. And you guys?" She looks at both Mako and Asami. Asami replies with an Im Okay, but Mako stutters on his sentence. Asami decides to leave Mako with Korra. Korra verbally pleads for her to stay, where as Mako stands awkwardly looking as to say stay. Naga reluctantly follows Asami out, leaving Mako and Korra alone.

"How are you?" He sits beside her but not so close.

"Alright, could be better could be worse." She smiles and shuffles a little closer. The only reason she wanted Asami to stay is because, for a few weeks now Mako was awkward around her especially. He lifts his head,

"I'm, so glad, you're okay. I thought we were going to loose you,"

"Ah well, no you're stuck with me," she jokes, making them chuckle. The Avatar's true colours hadn't shone since the fight. She'd been damaged a lot by the trauma.

"Korra, I. I will always be here for you." He puts his hand on hers, she tops his hand with her other.

"Thank you, Mako." She smiles and pecks his cheek. Mako holds her cheek and draws her in a quick passionate kiss, from which they pull away from solemnly looking into eachothers eyes.

The peace it distracted when Bolin bursts through her door against Asami's wishes. He talks about how much he loves Opal, and how much he's going to miss Korra when she leaves later that day to go to the Southern Water Tribe. Korra was going to miss everyone dearly, but

"I will miss team Avatar the most," she thinks outloud, hugging Bolin.

"But hey! One day we can get back together! When you're all better and the Avatar we know," Bolin enthuses. "Team Avatar will be ONCE AGAIN," he cheers, Korra smiling, Asami and Mako both standing smiling at the optimist.
