Sam's P.O.V.

I was freezing. I had thrown my jacket down next to my locker, and when I went to grab it, it was gone. Someone wasn't happy with me. I wanted not to care, but in reality I cared. I cared a whole lot. Why I had made the decision of wearing a tank top was lost to me. It was so cold.

"Sam? Um, did someone take your coat?" I blushed and looked away. "No, nobo - " Ciel cut me off. "Who do you think it could have been?" I sighed. There wasn't a way to get past this kid. "It could have been David. But I don't think he is 'graceful' enough to do it." Ciel rubbed the back of his neck. "I didn't start off on a good foot with that boy, I shouldn't farther involve myself with him." He was right.

"Well, I hope you find it. Goodbye." Ciel just walked off. I wanted to be friends with him, but I didn't think he felt the same way. I rubbed my hands together as I watched him walk away. I turned around myself to make my why to my first class. I left my stuff in the classroom I was worried something was going to happen to it too.

I pulled my hair down, thinking it might keep my shoulders warm. But I felt someone bump into the back of me, nearly causing me to tumble over. I turned around, "God watch it." And to my surprise it was Ciel. He had his hands on his knees and breathing heavily. Once he caught his breath he threw down his backpack and pulled off his North Face jacket. Then, he handed it to me. And without a word he sprinted back down the hallway. What a strange kid.

The jacket was a bit small on me, but it was better than the cold air. When the bell finally rang I walked down the hallway clinging to the blue jacket, not wanting to ruin it. As I walked I heard people whisper my name, saying rude things. My reputation was going down hill by the minute. Someone shouted, "Attention whore!" I turned red and quickened my pace.

The rest of the day I made no eye contact, and sat alone at lunch. It was a big difference to what I normally do. My "friends" snickered at me and pointed. "What are we, in the fourth grade?" I whispered to myself quietly. I stared at my sandwich and shivered against the chilly wind. I hoped things would get better.

Halfway through lunch I felt someone sit down at the table. "Sam, why are you sitting alone?" I stiffened and slowly looked up from my food. "Um, well. It looks to me that my group has abandoned me." Ciel glared at me with his one good eye. "You don't need those damn fools." I smiled, but it was hard to do. "Thanks." I didn't want to say anything else in fear that I would cause him to ran away like all the rest.
