"I think you have enough, Ms Fuyumi..."
He stopped her from taking another sip. That was the eight glasses of wine in the night. Hawks wanted to make her wasted on purpose. She might profess her hidden crush for him or told him Endeavour's embarrassing secret. However, he never thought Fuyumi would be a strong drinker.
"Nonsense! I can still drink more!"
He stood up from his seat. "I'll carry you home. Your family must be worried."
"Family?" She slurred. "Did you know what happens in our family?"
Ho boy. Hawks expected this to come out on their conversation.
"My father wanted a strong predecessor, so he trained my brother. My mother disagreed with his way but he did not care. He sometimes beat or pushed her for defending Shouto. One day, my mother had a mental breakdown and..."
She did not continue her word and cried. This was not new news for him. After all, Hawks was Endeavour biggest fans. Knowing this did not change anything. Endeavor was a shitty husband and father. Nevertheless, he was still a respectable hero. No one was perfect. Hawks exhaled a deep breath. Beating villain and saving civilian was his expertise, but solving the family problem was beyond his power.
"Why you did not leave them?"
"Because the family would be broken if I left!" Tears fell down on her cheek. "I am the only one keeping this family from falling apart! I have to do it! Or else mother will have no home to return! No one will take care of Shouto!"
Hawks could never take advantage of a sad person. He tapped her shoulder, hoping it would calm her down. "There, there. Feel free to cry tonight. I'll listen to all of your grievances."
Fuyumi sniffled on the table. She murmured incoherent sentence between her sob. Hawks paid attention to her story and sometimes nodded in agreement. Her cry eventually subsided. She was silent now. However, that woman gave him an eerie stare. Hawks felt quite uncomfortable at that stare.
"Now that I look at you closely. You're pretty cute..."
"Miss Fuyumi, you're drunk. I think you should rest."
She purred, trying to get closer to him. "Hmmm, let's take a rest together."
Only one thing flashed through his mind.
RUN!
Fuyumi caught him before he escaped. They struggled for a few minutes. She snatched the necktie from his clothes. Much to his surprise, Fuyumi overpowered him. The side effect of alcohol made her stronger. She pushed him down to the floor and flipped his position.
"Miss Fuyumi, stop! What are you doing?!"
"Making sure you're not getting away!"
Hawks shrieked inside his mind. "How could she be so powerful? Damn, Endeavour's gene is scary!"
Fuyumi bound his hand with necktie behind his back. The drunk lady took the whole bottle from the table. She dragged the poor man while chugging on the alcohol. Her face was red from booze.
"Yay! We're going to have fun!"
Hawks screamed for the top of his lung. Everyone was terrified to help. They avoided her gaze and stepped aside before bumping to her. Fuyumi lumbered to one of the employees who were late to flee. "Waiteeeer, do we have any booked room?"
The man checked the data with a trembling hand. "It-it's room number six hundred one."
She sneered. "I knew you prepared a room."
