Shouto looked down at his phone, then frowned. He looked at the empty room. Fuyumi had not returned from her work. That worried him because night had fallen.
"Fuyumi, have you seen my..."
Natsuo stared at Shouto, standing in front of his sister's room. The older brother was scratching his head. "Where is Fuyumi?"
The youngest shook his head. "I called her number, but there's no answer. I'm going to ask for help."
"Well, that's rare."
Endeavour sat in the tatami room reading the newspaper. He was startled when someone opened the sliding door. He was even more shocked when he saw that Natsuo and Shouto had come together for him. A cold sweat broke out on his head.
Neither of them had a bowl of noodles in their hands.
A strange wave of relief washed over him.
Natsuo said nothing. He still felt uncomfortable with his father. Even in this situation, he was reluctant to talk to Enji. They had the most strained relationship in the whole family. Natsuo did not even know how to explain the situation to his own father.
Fuyumi was late. She didn't answer her phone."
Shouto spoke in his place. Natsuo was glad that his brother was a straightforward person.
Endeavour's face turned pale. "I'll ask the Hero Association to trace her phone now."
Natsuo tilted his head. "We're going that far? Shouldn't we respect her privacy or something?"
"I don't like his method, but I agree with him," Shoto added. Having spent time as a hero, he understood how dark and grim the job was. The villain never hesitated to kidnap people for various reasons. Being related to the hero made the family more vulnerable.
Enji spoke on the phone. His voice was strained. "Are you sure? This is terrible..."
"What happened?" Natsuo became worried now.
"Fuyumi's phone is at the school. She is not there."
Hero Number One used his resources to find Fuyumi. Finally, he received a call from the Hero Association. Fuyumi had been caught on a public camera. Endeavour put their conversation on speaker.
"We found her. She is eating in a restaurant."
"I-I see." Endeavour was relieved. His daughter had not been kidnapped. "She's probably having dinner at the family restaurant with her co-worker and forgot her phone."
"We-well, sir... I don't think that's the case." The voice on the other end trembled with fear. "I-I took a video of her..." His subordinate took a deep breath. "...with Hawks."
"WITH WHO?" Endeavour's voice was full of rage. Natsuo and Shouto were shocked to hear it. "SEND ME THE FOOTAGE!"
They saw Hawks and Fuyumi smiling next to each other. They talked and went to a hotel. His hand was around her waist. He had a smug, victorious grin on his face. Hawks was proud of his 'success in stealing your daughter and sister'.
Three of them screamed. The whole neighbourhood was surprised.
At the hospital, Rei Todoroki sneezed. The nurse came to check on her, but she assured them she was stable.
"I am fine, but... I have a feeling my family will do something stupid. I hope Enji and my sons won't give Fuyumi any problems".
