My mind didn't even register that she had said the word stop correctly, but I realized I had just ruined her big night with Ace.
How terrible of a friend am I? She has had a crush on him for years and she was getting her chance but I probably just ruined it.
I let her pull me to the car and into the back seat with her and Colten.
Right when I sat down a terrible pain hit my head. It felt like someone was squeezing my head and slapping their hands hard against my ears. The pain kept getting worse. My head was throbbing and the pain was making it way down my throat until it was hard for me to breathe.
Danica!
I heard Vanessa scream and a deep male voice next to me, yelling for someone to get help.
Collect yourself dammit Danica. I thought to myself. You are making yourself vulnerable and you are ruining Van's night AGAIN. Get yourself together! Take a deep breath then push the dam pain away and sit up for God's sake!!
My little inside pep talk did little to help me. I pushed the pain to the back of my mind and sat up. I ground my teeth together to keep from screaming or cussing.
Danica?
I heard Vanessa's sweet voice next to my ear. The next word I heard from her was all I could remember.
Smile.
That word, so simple, but held so many things was the last thing I heard until strong arms picked me up and I blacked out with the weird smell of pine in my nose.
