Heartbroken

~Jeff's P.O.V.~

My heart shattered. Friendly disappeared into the golden light radiated from this, Riley? I hope Friendly isn't dead. Please don't let them die. I'd never live with myself. To my relief, a moment later the golden light faded and they were released, holding the hand of that she-devil. Friendly stared at the ground. Please look up. See how hurt I am! Look what you've done to me!! I love you! No luck. My chest ached as I hoped for one apologetic glance. Even just a normal glance!! I looked around. Everyone looked pissed. Especially EJ and BEN. I'm pretty sure they were closest to Friendly, besides me. Sally was crying into Slenderman's chest. Slenderman looked at us. "Attack." I snarled and launched myself at Riley. I was shoved down. Not by the smiling demon though. Friendly glared at me with despair. I felt guilty. Let me save you. They bent down and reached out a hand. I let myself smile and went to grab it. Friendly grabbed my knife.

I scrambled back as Friendly held the knife uncertainly. "Y/N ple-""That's not my name." I stared at the voice that came from Friendly. It was low and sharp. Friendly's head tilted up and I shuttered at their grin. Blood dripped down the side of their face from the cut next to the left eye. "I'm, Friendly!" Friendly jumped. I covered my face and waited for the blade to hit me. It never did. I hesitantly looked up. Friendly attacked the entire crowd as they all tried to get Riley.

Riley seemed to be willing to fight. A long blade had been either hidden, or manifested itself into Riley's hand. She never used it though. Friendly fought like literal monster. Nobody touched Riley. I lied on the ground, too caught up in staring at them fight. In five minutes everyone was on the ground, except Slenderman and Sally. Well, me too but I wasn't paid any attention. Friendly stumbled a couple feet toward them. Clothes torn, and bloodied. With other's blood or theirs, I'm not sure.

"You used me. You never cared. I trusted you!" What is Friendly talking about? "I never got a choice. Never!! You forced me to listen to you! Even my friends hated me!" I stood up. Sally sobbed and I took a step forward. Wait. Slenderman! I can't!! Not anymore! Wait. I bit my lip in annoyance but stayed silent, ignoring Riley's gaze. "They all hated me, didn't they? Even Jeff!" My arms itched to hug Friendly and whisper how much I loved them. I hadn't always... but I did now. I wanted to scream how hurt I was because of them. But I stayed silent. "They, You... got rid of me..." Friendly shuddered and gave a quick sob. I took another step forward. I wasn't told to stop. Another one.

"Y/N. You forgot one." RILEY! Friendly spun around, wide eyed. They saw it was me and lowered the knife. "It's you." I held open my arms. "Friendly, please. Don't do this!" They stepped forward, tears streamed down their cheeks. "Why shouldn't I? Give me a good reason to not end this all, right now." I hesitated. It would be really cliche but, it's the only thing I can think of. "Because I love you."

Friendly's eyes widened. Blood dripped down their face. I reached forward and wiped it off. "I, care about you. So much." "Y/N you know he's lying. He just doesn't want to die." "That's not true!" Friendly didn't listen to me. Their eyes glared again. "You're a liar." The knife was pointed to my throat. I look in Friendly's eyes. Desperation filled their gaze as we locked eye contact. "Stop me..." It was a faint whisper. "Please." I could barely hear it, but it was enough. I knocked the blade onto the ground and pinned Friendly down.

"Y/N! Are you okay!?" I frowned at the genuine worry in Riley's voice. Friendly weakly struggled. "Riley," they sobbed and coughed. "I couldn't do it! I'm sorry, he was my  best friend. I know he hates me but-" More choked sobbing. Riley gave Friendly a motherly smile. "Y/N it's perfectly fine. You did so well. I'm proud!" Friendly smiled sightly. I tried to look at them. "Friendly..." "Get off." Don't let go. I was willing to listen this time. I sat up and wrapped Friendly in my arms. They struggled weakly but gave up.

I buried my face into their neck. "Friendly, I love you. Please, listen to me." Friendly moved their head away. "Stop lying to me!!"  Let Y/N rest. I sighed and held Friendly in my arms as Slenderman set Sally down and walked towards Riley. "Y/N," Friendly struggled again. I whispered the conversation so as not to distract Slenderman. "Why'd you leave me? It broke my heart..." "Jeff you hate me." "I don't! Please, believe me. The night that Sadie was attacked? That why I kissed you! I had realized it!" Silence. They let out a desperate, quiet sob. "I'm scared, Jeff. Riley cares about me. But one of you must be lying!!" Friendly covered their ears and sobbed. They look so broken. Riley frowned sympathetically. "Y/N, your so-called friends are making you cry. Are they really your friends?" I tried to hug Friendly but they shoved me away. "Riley's right. She was right about everything!"

I stood and tried to grab them as they ran away. "Friendly please!!" My chest ached and my head screamed. "RILEY YOU RUIN EVERYTHING!!" I grabbed the knife  and ran forward.

I gently pushed Friendly (who tried to step in my way) away and stabbed Riley's chest. "RILEY!" Riley shrieked and stumbled, staring at the blade in her chest. I caught Friendly's arm as they rushed forward to help. We froze.

Riley's skin started peeling and revealed rotten flesh that was tinted green. "Y/N, I love you. You were my baby." Friendly stared in horror as the body quickly deteriorated into a skinny corpse in rags. Tears pooled down their face. Friendly shoved me away and fell to their knees. "THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT JEFF! SHE LOVED ME! SHE WAS LIKE A MOM!" "She was a mom." I noticed everyone standing up and limping over to Slenderman. I frowned, happy, but confused. "How are you all alive?" EJ picked up his mask and pulled it on. "Friendly didn't have the heart to kill us." Toby adjusted his mask. "They used the handle to knock us down. Slenderman told us to stay down." I looked at Friendly.

They blushed, embarrassed and backed away. Slenderman picked them up in a tentacle and they  twisted and squirmed. "Y/N will be back to normal after a nights rest." LJ raised his hand like a student. "What do you mean, back to normal?" Slenderman picked up Sally and looked at us. "You forget how Riley treated Y/N. Riley was the ghost of a mother who's child had died. She decided to drive Y/N insane with stress and kill her teacher. Then Riley posed in the hospital as a nurse and cared for them. She gave off a motherly aura that soothed Y/N. Especially now, when Y/N had a familiarity with her and was already living with murderers. Riley wanted someone to work for her." I rubbed my head. then my eyes widened and I looked at the crowd. "So, you guys all heard what I said to Friendly?" My anxiety grew as smirks filled the crowd. "Oh you bet we did Loverboy." I blushed and growled. This is not gonna be fun.
