Crowley's POV
I had no idea who created this concept of nightmares, it certainly wasn't any of our lot. But that didn't stop me from claiming it as one of my better achievements, right after rush hour traffic, of course.
Another thing I could never figure out whether or not reincarnation was some hoax or some well guarded secret created by Go....well, you know who upstairs. After all, what could explain the woman with white hair that kept popping up in the oddest of places.
She was there when I was in Greece, when I was a black knight, and among other instances, was also at the first viewing of Hamlet at the Globe Theater. It was absolutely maddening.
I was waiting for Aziraphale in Central Park, idly tossing bread to ducks. Funny things, ducks. Not sure who's idea they were either...
My eye caught on a young woman with white hair and sunglasses sitting on a bench with a book. Oh bullocks, there she was again. Fed up with the millennia old cat and mouse game, I threw the rest of the bread at a duck, who quacked when a particular crumb hit it in the eye, and stormed over to the stalker.
Your POV
I was currently in the middle of an interesting part of Gone with the Wind when my book was snatched from my hands. Glaring up to reprimand the asshole, I started.
"Crowley?" I said, surprised. The Serpent of Eden peered at me, holding my book.
"You can tell Micheal or whoever it is that gave you your orders to fuck off." The red haired demon hissed, actually hissed, at me. Wait, did he think I was an angel? How long had it been?
Sighing in exasperation, I took off my sunglasses, red eyes glaring up at him. Crowley took a step back, swearing fantastically.
"Did Hastur put you up to this?" He asked. I rolled my eyes, putting my sunglasses back on.
"Do I look like a demon?" I replied, snatching my book from him and standing up. I tried to brush past him, but he blocked my path.
"What else would you be?" Crowley pestered.
"I'm a nightmare." I said begrudgingly, stepping back, "Specifically, the first nightmare."
"So that's where that came from." He muttered, then said more loudly, "How...how did you...?" He motioned at me.
"I never went to hell," I explained, shrugging, "I never made it there." Crowley gave me a confused look, or at least as much as he could with dark shades on.
"So what...you're just floating around down here, not on either side?" He asked, cocking his head to the side as he stuffed his hands in his pockets. I just shook my head.
"I have to go," I said, brushing past him.
"See you around then." Crowley called after me. I just flipped him off and kept walking.
