Crowley sat across from me on my couch. I pulled my knees up to my chest, wrapping my arms around them, and staring at him.

"Look," The serpent said, "I can't fix what happened. Yes, it was fucked up and it never should have happened. You should still be fluttering around up there, preparing to destroy the armies of Hell." I raised an eyebrow, wondering what his point was.

"But that's not how it is." Crowley continued, staring pointedly at me, "I'm a demon, you're a nightmare. We have to play the hand we're dealt." I blinked blankly at him. Was he really playing the tough love card?

"You think I don't know that?" I said, sitting up straighter, "Just because I can accept my fate doesn't mean I have to forgive and forget." Tears threatened to spill over and I wiped them away. To my surprise, Crowley reached over and took my free hand in his.

"Aw, come on, kitten," He said, looking a bit uncomfortable, "Don't cry. I'm not good with that sort of thing."

I offered him a small smile, "No, I suppose you wouldn't be. Thank you though." Crowley gave me a small smile of his own. Then pulling me towards him, he wrapped me in a hug. I leaned against his shoulder, shocked. The Serpent of Eden was hugging me.

"You know," Crowley said thoughtfully, "Aziraphale and I have been down here for a long time. We could really use some new stories. If I have to hear about the latest book of prophecies he's found, I'll bloody shoot myself."
