The little place Crowley had in mind was a hole in the wall bar that didn't look like it hadn't seen a health inspection in years. But he was right about the tequila. It was quite good.
A bottle and a half in, Crowley had me explaining how exactly I fell without really falling. In return, he explained how he got the job here on Earth. We were both pretty drunk by the end of the second bottle.
"You...you know," Crowley slurred, "You're not so bad when you aren't flipping me off..."
Leaning back in my seat, I laughed, "You're not so bad yourself."
The Serpent of Eden took off his dark shades and leaned on the table staring at me. His yellow eyes were unfocused and I couldn't help but think that he was impressively drunk. I leaned on the table, just a few inches apart from him.
"So you really had no idea I was down here?" I asked, smiling.
"Not in the slightest." Crowley said, "To be honest, you had me wondering if reincarnation was real." I laughed again.
"Do..you remember," Crowley slurred, opening the third bottle of the evening, "Paris right before the revolution?"
"Do you mean the party at the palace of Versailles?" I asked, thinking back to an elaborate party at one of the most famous courts in all of Europe.
"You were in a blue dress." Crowley continued, drunkenly lost in memory, "I remember you. I remember that dress."
"You're drunk." I commented. Crowley looked up at me, eyes trying to focus, but that was proving a bit of a challenge.
"And you're fucking beautiful." The serpent said with a hiccup. My smile disappeared, peering at him. We both stared at each other for a long moment before either one of us did anything.
As if he wasn't giving himself time to think about, Crowley moved forward and pressed his lips to mine. I was surprised at first, but then closed my eyes and leaned into the kiss. And I had to say, Crowley was a very, very skilled kisser. Even when shit faced drunk.
Crowley's tongue ran along my bottom lip before exploring deeper. I moaned against his kiss, something seeming to thrum to life in me. The Serpent of Eden tasted like like tequila and coffee and peppermint. It was intoxicating.
I never wanted the kiss to end.
