Singto approached his aunty, Phana did the same and went foward to him to close in the short distance between them. They exchanged a smile then a tight hug. Singto was hugging his aunt but had his attention on Krist the whole time. Phana had sparkles in her eyes, those were tears but she hold them back so they would not fall down and make her look suspicious. She didn't want Singto to find her shedding tears or he would ask her about the reasons and he would see through her lies if he dared to tell him nonsense to hide the truth. However, it was hard for her to fight against the tears while seeing her only child weak, pale, in pain, crying and sitting in a wheelchair. His sad look had such a heavy impact on her that she grew the desire to run to her son, take him in a hug and comfort him by promising him that she was there for him now and everything would be alright. The desire to be close to him again was so strong that she almost made the first step to him and exposed herself as his mother who had disappeared without a trace more than 15 years ago. Just like she almost did back then as she visited an injured Krist in the middle of the night to treat his injuries. However, she remained by Singto and contained herself to not go and touch Krist like they were acquaintance. Somehow she was grateful that she had came to her senses before she made the biggest mistake in her life again.
It was the second time that Phana had to witness Krist in such weak condition and the pain in her chest raised everytime she had to see the child she gave birth to suffer. It always broke her heart for two reasons. First reason was that he was in pain and despite her being his mother, she couldn't do anything for him to help him and take the pain away. Second reason was that her son was right behind her but she would never be able to touch her like wanted. She knew that she did mistakes in the past and had her reasons to leave her family but after seeing Krist in so much pain, she began hating and calling herself despicable for being able to leave her 4 years old child in the middle of the night and change her identity overnight ...Mae is sorry... Please, don't ever forgive Mae for leaving you... Everything is my fault... A faint sob almost escaped her mouth but she bit tightly on her lips to prevent any sound to come out.
„I'm delighted to see you here, aunty...", Singto mentioned with a bright smile on his lips.
Her nephew's voice broke Phana's inner thought, she quickly wipped her tears away with her hands to look more decent. Singto broke the hug and mustered her carefully. He realized her red eyes and concluded that she just cried a moment ago but he didn't question her about it and ignored the fact that his aunty cried since he didn't want to sound rude. Sometime, it was necessary to stay ignorant about a situation to not disturb the person's personal pace. Maybe, she would come to him herself someday and explain him why she had cried back then.
„How did you find out about our whereabout?"
„Uhm... I... You told me about it", she laughed after the big fat lie she had to tell him.
„I... did?", he asked again, somehow it seemed like he was giving her a chance to tell the truth instead.
However, Phana didn't understand the meaning behind his question and nodded that he told her about it on the phone but she didn't convict him at all. Singto had a kin smell for lies and would smell right from wrong like a well trained police dog. Besides he was confident that he would never disclose their whereabout to someone while knowing that gunmen were after his Krist and could come after them if he ever lose words about it. Even if that someone was his family, he still would never do anything that could put Krist in danger. Phana tried to hide her secrets but the harder she was trying to be authentic with her lies, the less Singto believed her. The more she was trying to conceal from him, the more curious Singto got.
