Hey guys how are you all, so this is my new book about what it's like after cancer. There is mention of hard stuff but I'll warn you when it comes to it
Xx
As I'm sat here starting this book, I am currently 4 years and 3 months cancer free.
This is my journey after Cancer and all that comes after it.
People think It's all rainbows after finishing treatment, but it really Isn't.
It's like being at a theme park, one rollercoaster is good and the other is totally rubbish.
Throwback to 4th March 2015
"Clarice, time to wake up" Dad called as he shook me awake
"Ok dad" I replied as I opened my eyes and smiled at him.
It was currently half six in the morning and I guess you're wondering why is she up at 6:30, well I have a hospital appointment today and it was my lumbar puncture and chemo so we always get there early because I'm not allowed to eat until the lumbar puncture is over.
I climbed out of bed, went to the toilet, brushed my teeth, got dressed and then went downstairs.
"Morning" I smiled to my mum and dad
"Morning Boo" My parents replied
"Ready to go" Dad asked as I nodded before giving my mum a hug and kiss before leaving.
It took us just over an hour to arrive at the hospital, but I didn't mind because I loved the silly car ride my dad and I had.
"Here we go" Dad sighed as he went and signed me in
I was seen half hour later
"Morning Clarice and Ed" Dr Motwani smiled
"Morning" we both replied
"So, it's your last lumbar puncture, bone marrow and chemo today" Dr Motwani told us
"Wait so she's finished treatment after today" Dad asked shaking
"Yes, she is, after today she will be in remission and then in 5 years' time, she will be fully cancer free" Dr Motwani replied as she stood up and hugged me
"Wow so I've beat cancer" I sort of asked in shock
Me a 14-year-old has just won against Cancer
"Yes, you have Clarice" Dr Motwani replied before adding
"Right I'll see you after the lumbar puncture" and then we left the room
"I'm so proud of you baby girl" Dad smiled
"Can we call mum" I asked
"Yeah in a bit we will" Dad replied
"Love you dad" I smiled
"Love you too" Dad replied
It was an hour after that when a nurse came to take me to the theatre room.
After coming around from the anesthetic D Motwani came to us
"You ready to show everyone that you kicked Cancer butt" Dr Motwani asked
"Yes" I replied
"Follow me" Dr Motwani replied before leading us around the corner to where all the nurses stood in lines clapping.
After reading the poem I rung the bell 3 times to signal I had finished treatment, and everyone was clapping
"Picture time" Sally called out as she grabbed dad's phone
When I arrive home, mum came running to me crying.
"I'm so proud of you" Mum smiled
Throwback to now
I was so happy to hear I could go back to being a happy teenager again.
Shame that didn't happen.
